Ever so often, an artist comes along who doesn’t quite fit into any one musical category, but ends up taking the hip-hop world by storm. Please allow us to reintroduce M.I.A., whose international hit single Paper Planes has received heavy airplay in various urban formats and inspired Kanye West to sample one of its lines on Swagga Like Us. Similarly, its follow-up, Boyz, has been remixed with a new verse from Jay-Z and has also inspired superproducer/rapper Swizz Beatz to concoct I’m Supposed To Ball. Unlike many artists who hop on the hottest beats, Swizzy sounds right at home over the original production by M.I.A. And Switch. Only question is, has the recession affected his portfolio?

It seems to me everyone is just so late to ride the M.I.A. bandwagon...I was on her album for about a year or so now and all of a sudden now everyone sees the potential for her tracks. They should have been jumped on a remix WITH HER for paper planes and $20! But Swizz isn't a very good rapper, but he has a cool flow about him. I am not really feelin it sitting in front of my computer, but in the club; it would be a TOTALLY DIFFERENT STORY! I have to throw this in rotation at least!

Blaze I hate when that happens, when you have an album or a song for like 3 months and then it hits radio mainstream and EVERYONE loves it LOL! I've been trying to figure out this beat all day long, I knew it was from a recent song I heard but I couldn't remember. Now that I know, it doesn't really change my feelings on the track. I get easily annoyed with the chorus, and Swizz was just average on here. It definitely wasn't an upgrade to anything we've heard from him in the past. He def sounds better on his own production, so Im keepin this at a 2/5

I like the original one better. The lyrics Jay and MIA put down were deep and thoughtful. Swizzy dumbed it down completely. However in the club either one will get ya movin.

To me, this song says more about MIA's talents than Swizzy's. Its incredible how much FREE PUB she has received from all these rappers who are jacking her beats for freestyles and remixes. She is doing the reverse of what Jim Jones is doing, haha.
Overall, no-doubt-about-it club banger.

Well this track is weird & original and it will be a banger in the clubs...it has so much energy, I'd bump it in my car! But I would get hysterical if I listened to it in my mp3 player. I need something yes energetic, but more calm u know. In rotation!
