Sweet Rush - Hot Sauce
Artist: Sweet Rush
Producer: Willy Will
Album: Untitled Debut Album
Label: Universal Motown
Born in Somalia, raised in Toronto, and currently residing in Atlanta, sisters Iman and Siham Hashi, better known by their stage name, Sweet Rush, have been on their grind as singers since both were in elementary school. Thankfully, all their hard work is finally starting to bear fruit; recently signed to Universal Motown, the sisters are featured on Akon‘s new single, Troublemaker (off Freedom, in stores now), and are getting ready for the release of their debut album next spring. Their first single, Hot Sauce, could very well give them the push they need, as it is fittingly spicy (both the sisters’ vocals and Willy Will‘s production), and ready to spread throughout clubland USA. Those who like what they hear should stick with DJBooth.net, as we plan to closely monitor the ladies in the months to come.

Wow, Somali's with a hot club mix?? I love it. Remind me of Kid Sister, and M.I.A (sorta). But to each their own. I hope to hear more from the sisters.

This chicks look pretty bomb. I like their style visually. Yeah...I agree with the Kid Sister resemblance in musical style. I can throw this in rotation. I like the eclectic club jam...though I probably wouldn't listen to this frequently.

This isn't really Hip-Hop or R&B. It is a fast-paced, club-oriented POP smash..... SMASH. This is def something that Kelis would have smashed 6 years ago.
If you need further evidence these girls have talent - check out their accompaniment to Akon's new single, Troublemaker. |

Agree with Rhyno this is horrible. They are horrible, they sing too fastly and the beat itself is too fast. No thanx

Wow... wide ranging reaction to these ladies. Interesting.
Just wanted to follow-up my earlier comments with the following PSA:"Hot Sauce" isn't and won't be on my personal MP3 playlist, but at the gym or the club, you won't find me saying "damn, this again?" |

REP MN! But I agree with MichaelHannah. I can see myself getting amped to this in a club/party environment. 1.5 for their look + 1.5 for their energy. |
