Hopefully the good folks over at Konvict Muzik aren’t running out of ideas… or at least don’t owe money to Kirk Franklin. Similar title aside, Silver & Gold finds Akon continuing to pursue his goal of worldwide chart domination as he assists U.K.’s own, Sway. The duo warn club-goers of gold diggers and their awful ways over Akon’s and Dutch composer/producer Giorgio Tuinfort‘s (see Sweet Escape) synth-heavy beat. Sway’s stateside debut LP, Signature, hits stores today; with that “signature” Konvict sound, the fresh face from the other side of the pond should have what it takes to influence the masses.
Akon tryin to push another rapper like Kardinal? I'm all for it. This chorus is catchy, but Sway's verses and flow is kind of boring. I think the track needs a little work before it gets steady airplay. But hey, when has an Akon produced and featured track ever flopped??? I wouldn't bet my money on this one to break the trend.
Can Akon ever go wrong on a hook or production! This hook is catchy as hellz!, Ill be lookin out for Sway, but im with cb, he doesnt really stand out that much, once again another artist outshined by the featurette LOL!!
o_m_gosh anotha track w akon!!!???!? wow... cant hate on n-e-thing he does... but yeah i do agree that sway'z versez r booooring...yep, needs work...itz in rotation even though i think akon deservez a 5 but wuteva.
The beat is cool but thats about it. It should be Akon ft. Sway cuz Sway's lyrics need serious help. Nothing against him but he cannot rap at all and has no flow!! Just to let you know buddy, Akon wont be able to save you on all yo songs. I have a feeling he will be out this game in a few months. Akon is the foundation of this song and he is straight fire on this song. Without Akon this would be garbage but with him its 2
After T-Pain's 'SILVER AND GOLD' fiasco, I am a little surprised that yet another Konvict production has created a record with this title. However, Akon is wonderful on this hook and Sway brings an interesting flow to the table. I just finished listening to his debut and I was quite impressed. If you like what you hear, support this artist!
I noticed Akon has always got the same style...he makes catchy songs and in the hooks he often repeats a word, like go, go, go, na, na, na...LOL! Nothing to say, I'm feeling his style, he's one of my fav artists and I'm not sick of him being everywhere! Better him than Lil' Wayne to me! Well, I don't think Sway sounds that bad...he lacks energy but he could improve! Akon can turn a semi-unknown artist into a big one. As for the song, cool production (could go also in Europe) and good melody...I like verses and hook both. I would take away go, go, go but it's a characteristic of him. Banger!
Sway's whole LP is interesting, the guy is major in the UK, and their tastes are different; the production is smooth, I like Sway's efforts here. He has had better, and he isn't all that exciting but he has a smooth feel to him. Akon kills it. "Fit 4 a King" is a track y'all should check for proof of Sway being legit; much like Kardinal, he has lyrical smarts, just don show as much flavor on a club joint
This is alright...Akon is the one that makes this song get a good rating, sway was alright but not great.
Another topic, get some Dizzee Rascal on the booth, im not from the UK and i know that he's the top guy in UK Rap at the moment
FOR A SECOND i THOUGHT iT WOULD BE LiKE TEDDY PAiNS SONG SiLVER AND GOLD,, iF iT WAS i WAS ABOUT TO BE A HATER! BUT iM DEF NOT BOMB ASS SONG KiKS SOM ASS! SWAY RAPS LiKE KARDiNAL OFFiSHALL!
its like WHOEVER akon is on da track with he always kills the chorus and makes the song THAT much better...i honestly just wait for the chorus, SWAY is alright i agree with cb126405 if he has more practice etc, i dont see why he couldnt make it in the game.
