Plenty of rappers have tackled the topic of hater-dom, but most keep their trash talk relatively low-concept; Substantial‘s first Booth feature is a decidedly different story. On The W.W.K.Y.A. (We Will Kick Your Ass) Tour, the Baltimore emcee and Extended Famm cohorts Tonedeff, Session and PackFM spin an elaborate road trip/revenge tale which finds them going on tour for the sole purpose of beating up/torturing everyone who’s ever dissed their music – including an arrogant racist, a prepubescent kid and a surprisingly gangsta Bill Gates. The concept gets an easy ‘A+’ for effort and originality, and the execution is no less impressive; Burns’ ominous synth/string/beatbox accompaniment (accented by a few well-placed sound effects) sets the perfect mood for lyrical carnage, and each emcee’s rhymes come fast and furious enough to merit several repeat spins. Not to mention, Tonedeff’s “eight ‘o’clock/ate a c*ck” rhyme is probably the funniest thing I’ve heard all week. Very impressive. Some of the wordplay and flows here reminded me of some early Eminem sh*t. Overall, a big big fan... which is why I listened to this one 4 times and then hit up Substantial on Twitter.

Definitely some impressive flows, though this may be a case of less is more. If they had held back just a little bit and let the track breath they might have been better off. Hopefully I didn't just earn myself a mention on substantial's next track.

This one is great, but also be sure to check out Kno's remix of the track on QN5.com. It should be the second blog post down and is free to download. His beat seems to fit the voices better. Both dope tracks though!

I like the flow, it does bring back memories of M and Will Smith back in the day.

The whole concept on this is creative and they executed it good! Tight wordplay on here, the flows sucks you in, basically everyone ripped the beat and added to the theme of the song. Rotation fa sho!

Nobody makes songs like this anymore. Creative and most importantly: SICK LYRICS AND FLOWS. Seems lately that every rapper has to cater to the lowest common denominator of intelligence in order to be accepted. These dudes are going balls to the wall with the lyrics and it gives the track an energy it wouldnt have had otherwise. This is my 5th time in a row listening. Great @*#$! from all the MCs and CREATIVE!

Coronary - you got a hell of a point but its not just music it's everything in society now. The Lowest Common Denominator appears to be the target of so many things that for us of higher intelligence it's making us slip more and more towards being within the L.C.D. As to the song fiyuh.
