Styles P. - Rocks Out Here
Artist: Styles P.
Producer:
Album: Untitled New Studio Album
Label: Nature Sounds
If you’re like me and you’ve been lamenting the lack of Styles P in the hip-hop sphere lately, then the emergence of this brand new street single, Rocks Out Here, is like Christmas arriving early. In conjunction with the news that there’s an album set to drop in the first quarter of 2011, it’s a very merry pre-Christmas indeed. If there’s one thing we’ve come to appreciate from Styles, it’s his ability to give us that classic gritty street sh*t precisely when it’s needed. And boy, is it needed right now. In a world where we witness all sorts of rapper-related f**kery, - i.e. public tantrums (I’m looking at you Kanye), Internet flame wars (ahem 50 Cent) and getting played by ho-fessionals like Kat Stacks (I see you Soulja Boy) - Styles P unleashing a new record where he simply spits raw and dirty lines over a grimy yet soulful beat feels like when you’re starving and the pizza delivery guy rings the doorbell. We missed you Styles – please don’t make us wait too long for the as-yet untitled new album. This is what we’ve been missing, only we didn’t realize it until now.

Not single material, but a solid "street" record for SP. The sample used is the highlight for me, since you always know what you're getting from Styles lyrically, vocally, emotionally, and otherwise.

When i first pressed play and the voice came on, i was like "nooooo". But i waited for the song to start, and now im thinking "ehhh, kinda annoying and dull". Also the production is pretty simple and boring. This is a dissappointment from Styles P. There isnt much more to say......... do better.

I have to say, I'm a little surprised at the low ratings. I'll absolutely agree that this is far from something special, mostly because the beat can get repetitive, but I thought Styles came through and delivered a really solid performance. Ghost!

its been a while, beat is HARD. 1st verse is too short like the 2nd verse but turns into a bit of a dipset type song but still nice and very welcome, will add to the playlist.

This production and sample is nice. Most songs Styles P puts out won't ever be able to be singles. It's mostly street $hit as he is the GHOST and the Hardest Out. This is a BANGER for me and my peeps that don't own computers in their grind hustle! G-$hit!

It has like a Wu-Tang feel to it without all the shaolin talk. But with that D-Block swag to it.
