STS - Sole Music (Remix)
Artist: STS
Featuring: Donwill (of Tanya Morgan)
Producer: Parafino & Schoolboy Charles
Album: The Sole Music EP
Label: G.O.L.D. Music
Why do some guys stand in line for hours to pick up the latest Yeezy’s or Space Jam Jordans? One word – passion. Passion to be the freshest guy out, passion to have the latest gear, and passion that your gear will attract the flyest gal in the latest gear. Enter STS, the Atlantadelphian who recently dropped off his DJBooth-sponsored project, Demand More 2. Today he brings us a remix to Sole Music, his passionate ode to both shoes and the fairer sex. The Money Making Jam Boys member brings in Tanya Morgan’s Donwill to assist him on the ode. The two go together like…well I don’t really collect shoes so I can’t use a shoe example, but let’s say they go well like Lamb and Tunafish (don’t act like don’t remember Big Daddy!). Keeping the original beat from Parafino & Schoolboy Charles, Donwill handles the introductory verse while STS lays the rest down like a Tempur-Pedic. The Sole Music (Remix) will appear on Sugar Tongue’s upcoming EP, The Sole Music EP dropping next week and presented by HoneyMag.com.

One of those songs you have to listen to a couple times before you can catch all the references. STS is definitely on the rise, and you don't have to be a sneakerhead to truly appreciate this one.

Hmm Nathan I agree, gotta listen to this a few times to take it all in, it sounded twice as good the second time round and well, not three times as well the third but dope nonetheless. Really liked how the production switched up a lil, gotta get used to STS's flow more though. Nice.

I like the original better. I feel like the "remix" only stripped down the production. But this is still a great track, and I still play Demand More 2 at least once a week. STS is up next.
Commercial hip-hop is slowly getting back to the lyrics: Drake, J. Cole, STS, Luda's on everything, and even Wayne's radio features are better lately. I think Chamillionaire's hip-hop police are real. They put Wayne in jail to give him time to think(yes I know these features were pre-jail), and they put Gucci in jail to rot. Soulja Boy escaped by rightfully claiming he wasn't in hip-hop. Keep it up STS |
