This past fall, Houston-native Steph Jones made his DTP debut on the collaborative track, Celebrity Chick, intended to kick off the still-unreleased DTP compilation album, Strength In Numbers. Now that the calendar has turned, Jones’ is ready to offer-up his debut project and prove that Bobby Valentino isn’t the only singer in the house. La La (Means Love), produced by Tricky Stewart and written by The-Dream, finds Jones trying to convince an ex-girlfriend that they can duplicate the wonderful time they once spent together. Steph Jones debut album is entitled Mr. Ordinary, but if you truly listen to this talented 24 year-old, you’ll find he’s truly something special.
I liked Steph Jones on "Celebrity Chick" and I also like the way he sounds on a solo record. It seems like the production on R&B tracks are getting simpler by the year which puts more emphasis on the vocalist. I'm not confident that he voice is stronger than Bobby V's, but it's still definitely soulful.
This is a HOT song! This kid has a nice flow and he has talent for sure. The beat is done very very nicely and the overall track is a Banger! Good job...I will be on the lookout for Steph Jones...
Anyone with a decent voice can sing a song written by someone else....its a ok song...but I didnt hear anything that seperates him from the back of r and b cats....
i had 2 give it 5 cuz 7574lyfe's remedial self rated 1 star twice.. over all the song is average, have to be deep to appreciate the old classic r&b he's singin'
This song is tight, def sumn u can mellow out too, not the best, but his voice is good and production and lyrics are above average, sumn a lil diff, overall a bangin single
i've heard alot by him cuz i stay listenin to stuff on imeem. (shout out to dj royale cuz she got sum fye playlists)...neways i like it. not his best tho...
no big deal, but then look at the album name, fits this to a T. anyhow a cool thursday evening on the highway song, damn sure I wouldn't be playin it on friday night, maybe friday morning, lmao! okay I am talkin sh!t, just playin yall its okay sounds like a Musiq soulchild kinda flow!
it's definetly not very mainstream which is why i understand the low ratings.. it reminds me a lil bit of older-Musiq Soulchild and John Legend (minus the piano) and i like it :)
