Statik Selektah - No Shame
Artist: Statik Selektah
Featuring: Termanology , Wais P (The Pimp)
Producer: Statik Selektah
Album: The Left-Overs
Label: ShowOff/Duck Down
When asked by our own DJ Z whether his seemingly relentless schedule of touring, recording, DJing and label exec-ing left any time for relaxation, Statik Selektah deadpanned: “I don’t really have free time… And if I do, I just make more music.” Well, looks like the Boston heavyweight found a few spare moments, because he’s squeezing in one more project before the year’s end. Ain’t No Shame, leak numero uno off his forthcoming outtake collection, finds Statik serving up some smooth old-school boardwork (complete with a hook featuring snippets from Kool G Rap’s Fast Life) as 1982 partner-in-rhyme Termanology and two Northeastern cohorts rock the mic. After Term’s predictably dope opener, Mass. native Ea$y Money drops a middle verse packed with witty wordplay (“My clan destined to take over, but we move clandestine.”), and Wais P. the Pimp brings the record home with a final 16 all about – what else? – pimpin’. Like what you’re hearing? You can find more “unreleased and overlooked” bangers on Selektah’s The Left-Overs compilation, scheduled to drop Dec. 21.

What haven't I said about Statik. His left-overs (see title) are better the full, three-course meal most producers are serving up these days. Term was my favorite emcee here, with newcomer (at least to the Booth) Ea$y Money turning in a few impressive bars. "No Shame" in that.

This is another great ecord from Statik. I loved his previous work. And im really feeling this from him. This a overall great record. I like everything about it. Statik's verse is great and has nice quality in his lyrics. Also, i really like the features from Termanology and Wais P. I have see a lot of Wais lately. And i liked everything he has been in. He gives a great effort everytime. I love the production from himself. I love when artists produce their own work. I will always have a lot of respect for them. This is a def banger.
