Most DJBooth listeners have an ear to the underground, preferring last-a-lifetime original tunes over fad-of-the-moment frauds. Consequently, East Coast native Statik Selektah has had people circling October 21 on their calendar for the past few months in anticipation of the release of his new album, Stick 2 Tha Script. Unlike most lead compilationers (yup, we made that word up), however, Statik doesn’t say so much as an ad-lib, instead opting to let his beatwork and features do all the necessary talking. On yet another early listen from the album, Watts’ Glasses Malone and Oakland’s Mistah F.A.B. are joined by Atlanta triple-threat Novel, who cruises over the relaxing beat to paint a musical picture of the laid-back Cali Nights.

One of my favorite songs off the new album. Don't sleep on Static Selektah. Great to hear both G. Malone and Novel; two artists whose albums I (and maybe others) have been waiting on for many months. E-Dub, remember to support the artist. I hope those 'downloads' are of the legal variety.
Yall know I'm a Cali kid, but this beat don't remind me of my state in any way. Its cool though. Novel's voice is killin um. He makes this song for me. This is a banger. Where's GAME ON THIS? SNOOP? WEST WEST YALL
I'm really feeling this beat, it's energic and makes me dance. Flow is ok but the best part to me is the hook! not one of my favs for now, but it may grow on me!
