When we last heard from Stat Quo, he had just finished writing a two-part letter to the allegorically-named Summer about his history with Shady/Aftermath, recounting how his sweet-sounding deal quickly turned sour and explaining why he has requested a release from his recording contract.  With no new word on the long-delayed Statlanta, the ATLien has decided to release a mixtape to feed the streets, entitled The South Got Somethin’ To Say.  On one of its inclusions, The Sun, Stat subtly makes his biggest announcement since signing his deal: release negotiations were successful, and he is officially a free agent.  Assisting Stat with his revelation are Sparry Park Productions, whose production employs some classic sampling work.  So, is The Sun setting or rising on Stat’s career?

Pretty good song, haven't been able to listen to it thoroughly yet, but this falls into the "I don't download near as many songs these days but I downloaded this" category lol. 3* for now, may change it later by silent voting after I think on it more

The production is off the chains. Stat Quo was decent with it. He's gradually inching into my radar. This song goes into rotation.

Dude is doin a great job of gettin his buzz up. Now he needs to get his Trey Wayne on. Get on every song under the sun and get his name out there in a strong way. Stats stock will rise if he keeps handing us this real shit. A rapper talking bout what he actually going through, the evil wicked maniacal music Business. Now thats keepin it real not rappers talkin bout they past.

I have heard songs of the same type until now today: good flows, quite slow music, good samples. This is also very good, thanx to the great background sample which sounds good also alone when he does not rap. His flow makes this song complete...in rotation!

One of my favorite artists in the game... to not have already dropped a debut album. Ironically, the other is B.o.B.

I digress... nice track, even better mixtape (just wait...) and overall a great career move. It's now or never and Stat knows it. Sun is only rising...

stat quo is a wellknown generous rapper.. but once again his raps dont match up with his beat.. the beat sounds like someone died and his raps sounds like he's hyped

Good song. Stat Quo is too good to be unsigned. Someone get this guy a contract already.
