Spring is right around the corner (finally!), and with the winter thaw comes a new growth of talented artists that had been somewhat buried in 2010. Leading the pack is ATLien Stat Quo with Success (Back to U), the new single off his long-delayed debut album, Statlanta. The former Shady/Interscope artist shows his love for the grind on the track, threading his bars through upbeat production (courtesy of Phonix) that’s topped off with an incredibly soulful hook. Although we have to wait until the entire album is released to determine its real viability, Stat already knows his relationship with the game, and is comfortable sharing it with the rest of us: “I mean us, it’s no rush/ me and success, the only b**** that I trust.” Hey, who doesn’t love success? The independently-released Statlanta is due to finally hit the market May 5, so if you enjoyed this budding artist’s track here, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy.

sound so gangsta love the beat and the ol skool riding feel...i could picture myself riding to this with the beat so far...vocals need to be raised a lil...don't like his flow that much here...ive heard better stat quo i use to think his madden songs were always good...the hook doesn't stand out...and it seems a little sloppy...i see where he was going but to me he din complete it...but dude got some bars of truth...ive heard better from him so i have to give it a two sorry...

Just Ok describes the type of music everyone seems to settle for these days. See Gucci Mane. This is not the case here. Love the Hook.

Stat's flow is still on point, the production is banging (sounds like Phonix was listening to some Dre), and the hook is solid.

@k-flow, i kinda hear an r. kelly sample too (or maybe its just both of us...) stat quo had a nice flow here, nice head-nodder. the piano in the background was nice- props to phonix on the production. hook couldve been a bit better but an all round banger

The production reminds me of a couple of old school Dre beats, though other then the production, this track isnt anything special. Stat can do better then this

It feels so predictable to say this, but I like Stat's less-radio oriented cuts better. With that said, I have to give it up to the man, he's crafted a hit.

Hmmm...not sure I personally hear any Kelly, but is it just me, or do you hear a Jadakiss ad-lib sound effect in here? The baby cry? Maybe I'm hallucinating.

This is a solid song, which relies more on the beat than Stat’s flow. Besides 50 cent, Shady and Dre let a lot of good artists go, without really exploiting their talents.

Agree with @YoungSwish, the production carries it to rotation, but its potential has been minimized because of Stat's average verses. Still, Rotation fa sho!

Statlanta is gonna be SWEET...Though he left the label, he's still got that sound!

Can't wait to (finally) cop it.

Production is on the banger side, the vocals are not and so it drags down the track.

What else can you say...This is Stat Quo. I still bang Ghetto USA and California. He's automatically going to be in rotation.
