In his first full year free from Shady/Aftermath, Stat Quo is ready to go full-force and pave the way for his long-awaited arrival in Statlanta (scheduled for release sometime in ‘09).  Stat’s first street release of the new year is the upcoming Checks & Balances mixtape, which features a newly-released record recorded amidst the hype of Obama’s inauguration.  Inspired by Jay-Z‘s performance at the Inaugural Ball, Stat discusses his plans to take his Immortal Hustle to new heights over a guitar/flute beat by Illtone.  The resulting record should motivate everyone on their grind, from those in the streets to those working 9-to-5 jobs; if you put your best foot forward, there’s no limit to what you can accomplish.

Stat Quo is proving over and over why Shady/Aftermath dropped the ball when it comes to his rap career. The man clearly has talent.

Nice combo of raw verses and ill production. Rotation... and then some.

Riggs Morales f*cked dude career up.. They don't know how to break an Atlien, they gonna flop Bobby Creekwater as well. Stat Quo needs to drop something uptempo if he wants to make a wave in the hip hop game right now. Prolly a Drumma Boy or Runner's beat in double time or somethin then he needs to do a song for the ladies kawz it's apparent that his homies ain't buying his records.

You are right Z! Aftermath owed it to themselves to give Stat Quo a chance...He delivers time and time again, and he has from the start. He deserved a good album. This track has excellent production and sick lyrics and unique flow once again! This is a CERTIFIED DJ BLAZE BANGER!
