Starrs & Murph - I Wanna Live [Premiere]
Artist: Starrs & Murph
Producer: AraabMuzik
Album: BSF2:The Lost Package
Label: Loose Change Muzik
In a genre where the obsessive pursuit of fame, fortune and worldly goods is the rule, R.I. twosome Starrs & Murph are the exception. On their latest mixtape leak (making its world premiere in the Booth), the exclusive freestyle series alumni express their life philosophy by way of a quote from soul singer Greg Perry: “I Want to Live and let live / Live and let live, love and let love…” Fortunately for us, the duo don’t let that sentiment stop them from telling us how they really feel about their competition; over the sampled boardwork of AraabMuzik (who contributed similarly fresh, retro production to Marry You and Loaded Gun), Starrs & Murph spit braggadocious verses peppered with harsh words for haters and sucker emcees. In lieu of the usual hook, the beatsmith ties it all together with some immortal words from Biggie Smalls, including the oft-quoted line: “I would never wish death on nobody, ‘cause there ain’t no comin’ back from that.” Fans can find this track and much more on AllHipHop/Sneaker Junkies/DJBooth.net-presented BFS2:The Lost Package, set to hit our front page on August 9.

Production is a bit repetitive, but the track is nice for sure.

I'm wit the reviewers above... I like the smooth production, but it is a little too repetitive. I completely agree with the sentiment of the track, the verses were on point.

They may come from the smallest state in the country, but their rhyme skills are big time. I agree with 5Jay13 that this could have used a stronger hook to give the track momentum, but otherwise it's quality rhymes over quality production. What more could you want?
Is anyone else a little surprised that aarabmuzik turned out such a lush beat? Maybe he's done other beats like this, but I haven't heard them. |

Not sure I like the production for them, but both of the fellas can rhyme their asses off. Good stuff.

These guys can def. hold their own on the verses but I'm not so convinced the production they chose for this track was the right decision.
