Ever had a serious Hangover and later, once the effects had worn off, found yourself thinking “You know, I really wish I could relive that experience?” I’m guessing that’s happened to roughly, uh, nobody – well, nobody except the hip-hop heads who enjoyed DJ/producer Statik Selektah‘s Booth-acclaimed solo set by that name. If you fall into that category, the latest freestyle/mixtape bonus track from Starrs & Murph should be right up your alley. Over the lushly-sampled beat that backed standout track Night People, the Rhode Island natives (and freestyle series alumni) showcase their formidable mic skills, delivering bar after bar of alliterative, intricately rhymed lyrical goodness: “I’m a metaphor magician, simile sorcerer, narrative nympho, punchline porno star…” Damn! While I’ll leave it to you to decide how this cut stacks up against the original, (ft. Freeway, Red Cafe & Masspike Miles), I can’t imagine too many listeners walking away form this one unimpressed. Let's forget for a second that this record is being labeled as a freestyle. At the end of the day (or the end of the song), its about the marriage of dope rhymes and a beat. And that is exactly what we get in the form of this Starrs and Murph offering. Why, you ask?
1) You can never go wrong backed by a Statik Selektah beat. 2) When you hear one impressive line after another you cannot stop listening and then you realize its all over and you have to press play again haha.

Coming in with Freeway and Miles! That alone is a reason to give the original a listen. IMO, the original is better, but I'm biased, the remix was just as sick.

First, hilarious pic.
Second, this Statik beat is pistachios. Third, Stars and Murph more than do it justice with some ill rhyming. I am now thoroughly stoked to hear The Lost Package, let's make it happen.
