With the last drumstick eaten and the final sweet potato consumed, it’s time to turn our attention to that most magical, and expensive, of holidays. And what better way to kick off the yuletide season (I don’t know what “yuletide” means either) than with Freestyle Alum and Searching for Bobby Fischer creator, Stanza? While Big Rus provides an appropriately jingling but not at all corny backdrop, Stanza takes a moment to open a window on the reality of the holidays for most folks on his new offering Stanza’s Christmas List. In addition to longings for Ninja Turtles and Nintendo’s, the ATL emcee delves into the recessions inevitable effects on his celebrations in top storytelling form: “Mama said..Santa got laid off, and he can’t afford to check your full list off.” Sadly, that’s a sentiment too many of us can relate to. @ jzmonkey, This isnt a club banging type song. So why did you say it wasnt yet? It wont ever be. But anywho.. Back to the record........ This is really geat from Stanza. His lryics. flow, and the mixed them together is fantastic. The production from Big Ruts pulls it all together. This is a overall great song. A banger for me.

I don't think Stanza was trying to create a "club banger" jzmonkey. Just saying.
Real solid record. Gets you in the mood for the upcoming holidays. I like the realness that Stanza brings to his vocals. He isn't saying one thing and sounding another way - feel me? Stanza, when are you dropping "Stanza's Hanukkah List"?

Stanza continues to be at the top of my lyrical list - few people can manage to be as creative and real at the same time. Anything with "Christmas" in the title has the potential to be corny, but this is anything but.

Its a nice track but I would only play this around this time of year. Thats the problem with seasonal tracks like this is that they have very limited play rotation.
