Spree Wilson - No Use in Running
Artist: Spree Wilson
Producer: Spree Wilson
Album: The Never Ending Now
Label: Unsigned
Ahh, it’s finally starting to feel like spring. The dogwoods are blooming, girls are looking better and better (Ugg season is over, throw them where I don’t have to see them), and Spree Wilson is throwing down some incredibly catchy warm-season tracks. With No Use in Running, Spree does it all on the single: smooth melody, quick rap bars, impressive boardwork. Oh yeah, and he’s also the man running the guitar (yeah, that’s him). There’s a lot to be said about a Renaissance Man who can harmonize his talents into music such as this, but the music itself will say it better than I ever could. If you weren’t a fan of Wilson before, which is ridiculous, you should be after checking this song out. While his latest free online project The Never Ending Now is only a week away from dropping on April 12, step your game up and check out the rest of his work (Everything I Own, Love You Better, etc.) on the site that brings you the best of the best - DJBooth.net.

If you've been following Mr. Wilson's track record at the Booth over the past 3 years, you know we think the world of him. Thus, there isn't much I need to say. I'll let the rating speak for itself.

I don't mind mixing Rock and R&B when it is done well, and this song does it. Good from start to finish, def a spring/summer time jam.

I'm so happy to see a site like DJ Booth supporting a musician like this. Spree continues to add color to a drab black and white musical landscape. When listening to all his music together you really begin to get a feel for how much of an important artist he really is. This song is no different. Great lyrics, great song, great music. Thank you Mr. Wilson.

The song isn't bad, but I still think he's more of a knockoff Andre 3000. Just not a big fan of this guy... 2.5

Damn..the hatred is strong with Mack Man! Spree is far from a Andre 3000 knockoff..dude obviously is inspired by Outkast, but so is Janelle Monae, B.O.B, etc..nothing about Spree's music says "copy cat" You must be one of those guys who think that every black kid who sings/raps and plays guitar is an Andre biter..lol Pretty Typical!

This is well produced and Spree always offers something fresh when he drops a record. The chorus is infectious and I love how all the background elements are working together.

He's okay. Not really my style of music, but I can see what might draw people to him. He has that feel good vibe accompanied with nice vocals and guitar playing. Overall a decent track, but like I said, not really my cup of tea.

This is my second Spree track. I wasnt that impressed by the first but i am buying in on this one. The vocals are nooice and he is doing that guitar justice. I see this track making waves for him.

Spree Wilson has been going h.a.m. in the DJBooth lately. This album is going to be sick.
