Almost platinum-certified, teenage mega-sensation Soulja Boy is back with the first single off his forthcoming sophomore release. Obviously well advised (unlike many rappers), Soulja Boy is hopping on the “iTrain” in hopes that it means endorsement dollars down the line from Apple. On iDance, SB gives his classic Soulja Boy song/dance a minor production tweak, essentially leaving the original concept unchanged. Then it’s pretty much: exit “superman”, enter “idance”. Currently on tour across the country, the Atlanta-based Soulja Boy will release iSoulja Boy later this year.

I gotta give Soulja Boy respect where respect is due; and he has definitely earned it for the 2007-2008 album drop! I am happy to see he is adhering to his style. This beat is pretty sick and this is going to be bumping everywhere! He definitely isn't a one hit wonder! Good Job here from Soulja Boy...This is a Rotation joint!

I could care less about people talking about Soulja Boy killing hip hop. That's old now. It's way more sucky rappers out than him. He's telling you right on the track "iDance". He makes dance tracks, so let him make him. Some people like them. The same way I wouldn't want a industry full of Soulja Boys, I wouldn't want an industry full of Nas' or Jays either. That means everyone would be the same. Hip hop/rap/urban music gots to have some kind of contrast. Plus, without these rappers, what would East Coast rappers have to rap about...lol (inside joke)

The beat is fricken awesome, and I can't even hear what bass he's put into it yet. lyrically, totally absent, but then I'm not surprised. wouldn't be half as much of a problem if Soulja Boy didn't call himself the "hottest MC"... he's comparing himself to the lyricists. Regardless of what he says, he's no lyricist but does good for what he's aiming for, which is airplay. I'll play it some.

The reason hip hop is "dead" is because of the consumers... you guys would rather download a cd that go purchase it... ( and i know this doesn't apply to err body but it does for a lot of so called fans) For instance take Chamillionaires Ultimate Victory album.... that has been the best album I have heard in a long time.... it was REAL hiphop but people chose to download it rather than purchase his album... So because it didn't sell over 400,000 copies his label chose to not promote it anymore or put out any new singles... (he explains this on you tube) the reason why artists like Soulja Boy are succesful is because the younger generation have their parents buy them cds or use their parents credit cards to BUY music on iTunes instead of download it and bootleg it... So I respect his hustle for knowing how to get to the right audience.. he knows grown men ain't gon buy his album so he doesn't direct his music at us... STOP HATIN... buy cds and support your favorite artists so the game can get back to what it used to be!

And another thing I'm a huge fan of any artist talking about something but I can't totally knock Soulja Boy for being himself. He doesn't credit himself as a rapper but an artist; an artist that makes good music. And not for you, for whoever wants to listen and those listeners that he has BUY his music. donjonjon, yes I do agree that the high priced cds in the 1990's has damaged the industry... but people were still buying them back then... New releases now are like $9.99 for the 1st 2 weeks they are out and artists still struggle to sell 200,000 copies in the first 2 weeks... and that is how record labels judge the success of an album is the first 2 weeks sales.... if it don't sell good they won't invest money in new singles or videos so american consumers really don't get exposed to an artists material.... this makes artists resort to self promotion through mixtapes and myspace pages... I have the upmost respect for what Slim Thug recently did by sayin F my record label and going back to being independent... he paid back what he owed them on his contract... now he can put out the kind of album he wants to put out and have it drop on a release date of his choice and not keep gettin pushed back by corporate hip hop....

Soulja Boy around 16-17, Right? I don't expect too many adults to like his music. It would be different if Soulja Boy was almost 30 years old. The only thing that is keepin' me from trashing him is his age but I expect him to mature as he get older. (He probably want be around that long anyway). No excuse for a grown man tho.

Definitely in rotation because its reminiscent of the little kid anthem that sweeped the nation for way longer than it should've. This song really is just tweaked "Crank Dat."
