Israel, stand up! DJs Sabbo, Wido, Rob, and Shimmy Sonique of Tel Aviv’s Soulico crew have stepped into the Booth with a tune guaranteed to get worldly heads out onto the floor. The title track and current single off the foursome’s forthcoming full-length, Exotic on the Speaker, is a dancefloor-scorching blend of the foreign and the universal. Over Soulico’s upbeat Middle Eastern groove, Rye Rye (also heard on Blaqstarr‘s In the Mood), recounts a night spent drinking, smoking, flirting and wilding-out at the local nightspot. If the Baltimore femcee’s distinctively-flowed verses don’t get you moving, the breakneck chorus should do the trick – supplementing Rye Rye’s chopped vocals with a bracing, synth-accented double-time groove, Soulico deliver a hook drenched in pure aural adrenaline. Are clubs stateside ready for this Israeli crew’s globetrotting sound? You be the jury. In any case, readers looking for more exotic jams to put on their speakers are sure to find what they seek on Soulico’s latest LP, out now on iTunes and Amazon and set to hit stores everywhere Oct. 6.

I was lucky enough to visit Israel last summer and they LOVE hip hop there. It truly has become an international genre. This is fun and is probably infectious live. Intrigued and looking forward to more.

Agree with Z, this would be a great song to hear in concert. That opening voice was unusually very catchy, and this had me all ears for the whole song. Production was very unique and different.

I love that instrument (flute?) in that loop in the production. This is sick. I love the fact hip-hop is going global. I'm gonna look into this group some more.

Something different and refreshing to the ears. Production is "exotic" with Israeli folk-groove but you can definitely bob your head to it. The dynamic flow by Rye Rye matches the beat perfectly resulting in an energetic song, I'm jammin to it ... BANGER!!!

Man, hip-hop needs an infusion of new sounds, and getting some international flavor is exactly the way to go. When the beats goes up-tempo on the chorus, that part's sick. I'd love to see the reaction when this trac comes on in the club in the U.S.

The production is absolutely catchy, I love the music esp in the hook but I don't like very much this kid rapping. I mean, he is very good, but I prefer hearing adult voices

I keep coming back to this one... I love the fiddle in the track and Rye Rye holds it down. Upgrade my rating.
