The opening track off Cannibal Ox’s debut set, underground classic The Cold Vein, Iron Galaxy has received the freestyle treatment courtesy of DJBooth fave Soul Khan. Over El-P‘s otherworldly boardwork, sampled from Giorgo Moroder’s Leopard Tree Dream, The Honey Drippers’ Impeach the President and Wall of Voodoo’s Mexican Radio, the Brown Bag AllStars lyricist skillfully recaptures the mood of Vast Aire and Vordul Mega’s original bars, mixing oblique lyrical imagery with pointed political commentary. Some newly-added scratches by Montreal’s DJ Brace round out the package. If this loosie’s left you craving more fresh bars from Soul Khan, why not check out his guest contribution to Times Up, the recent mixtape single from Saheed?

Nice cuts by DJ Brace on the beat and tight lyrical work by Soul Khan.

Rappers, this is how you select an old school beat and do it justice with a "freestyle." Class is out.

The production really compliments his flow, but it's not my cup o' tea.

The instrumental was mean, Soul Khan did his thing but I feel it would be more suited to a relaxed rappers flow
