Solitair - The World Is Filled
Artist: Solitair
Producer: Solitair
Album: The Soloist
Label: Black Jays
Solitair‘s last non-exclusive freestyle feature found the Black Jays rapper enjoying a leisurely Summertime drive, gazing at all the fine females as he rolled along the city streets. As we all know, life can’t always be such a breeze; thus, on new feature The World Is Filled (making its world premiere right here in the Booth!), the T-dot native takes us to the part of town where violence is commonplace, gunshots are the soundtrack to everyday life, and every girl in the club has a store-bought set of DDs. True to his name, Solitair handles this track all on his lonesome, backing his own rhymes with a hypnotically jazzy, slightly claustrophobic sampled beat, and topping the record off with a sung hook adapted from Biggie‘s classic cut of the same name. Originally submitted for inclusion on our own Haiti aid mixtape, Rhymes & Rhythm for Relief (available for download with a minimum donation of five dollars), this cut didn’t make it onto the final tracklist, but those who like what they’re hearing can find World Is Filled and much more on The Soloist, a compilation of previously-unreleased material which has yet to receive a solid release date.

Production sounded a bit jumbled at the beginning, but Solitair made it work once he started flowin on it.

A talented man indeed. Writing, production, hook/verses, and he sent me the record direct. Just listen...

Dude has alot of skills from the hook to the beat. Everything was on point and his flow was real smooth. After half way through, I got kinda bored but nice track to chill out to.

Strange how so many people can hear the same thing and have such different reactions - i thought this was some sick production, and the intro was dope. It set the stage nicely.
Plus some good storytelling vocals from Solitair? I got this on repeat. |

A hear Nas sampled here, the jazz influence doesn't help the the track progress much. Not feelin this very much.
