Snoop Lion - No Guns Allowed
Artist: Snoop Lion
Featuring: Drake
Producer: Major Lazer and Ariel Rechtshaid
Album: Reincarnated
Label: RCA
UPDATE: Snoop Dogg has released the new video for No Guns Allowed. Mobile users can scroll down.
It’s a strange world we’re living in where Calvin Broadus, a man who made his name and his fortune in the bullet-riddled world of gangsta rap, comes out as an high-profile advocate against firearms. Whether it was the wisdom of age or the realization that he was the reincarnation of Bob Marley that caused the shift in his perspective, new single No Guns Allowed showcases a very different Snoop than we previously knew. Over a slow-rolling reggae beat by Diplo (as Major Lazer) and Ariel Rechtshaid, the artist laments not only the countless lives stolen by gun violence, but the value system that causes us to prize money over human lives. Drake reminisces about a fallen homie on verse two, and Snoop’s daughter, Cori B., provides additional vocal assistance. Fans will be able to find this stirring track, previous single Here Comes the King and much more on Reincarnation, set to hit record stores and online retailers April 23, via RCA Records.

Hard to believe that this is the same man who authored Gangsta Rap classics in the 90s, but I cannot hate. Sh*t's catchy...

This was OK... I like the other Snoop Lion joints better... Drake's flow was a bit off on this one.

I agree, Drake's flow seemed off on this. Overall a decent song. Very euphoric chorus. I'm not mad at this

Catchy, Major Lazer on point with production but Drake's feature seemed a bit forced. Good verse, but seems a little forced here.

That sound is fresh! Talk about an artist that can pull a 180 and still sell it 100%. Thats artistry evolution right there. Props to Snoop, not many artists can stay prevalent for the duration he has maintained. We need more music like this. Btw I thought Drizzy smashed it out nicely.

There is more meaning behind to the song. Lion is just trying to to reach another aspect to younger groups and realize the problems. Props to Lion!

Don't hate Snoop for growing up and changing his opinions. We all grow up and change our opinions, but when a gangsta does it he mocked for being a hypocrite. Snoop was 22 when Doggystyle was released, he probably looks at things abit different nowadays. Awesome song. Cori B sounds great on the hook. Drake did great on his verse.
