Whether it be Good Fridays, Timbo Thursdays or Rapper I’ve Never Heard of Wednesdays, a lot of artists have been dropping some weekly dope free music. Now it seems everyone’s favorite Uncle, Snoop Dogg has joined the trend with his #PuffPuffPassTuesdays. In his second week running (see previous El Lay), Snoop, with the help of producer Jake One and rapper Pilot, present us with Gangbang Rookie. Jake One, who has recently produced for the likes of Ghostface and Freeway, starts off the song with a jazzy piano riff that gives the song a smooth flow to complement Snoop’s always relaxed rhymes. With some hard hitting percussion that gives an accent to the beat, One shows he’s nice behind the MPC and allows Snoop to simply rock. Speaking of which, the Dogfather’s style has sounded the same since he came in the game as a teen, and will probably remain that way until he dies (probably from a munchies overdose). Still, you have to respect the consistency, and while I feel Pilot’s high voice is only meant for some, this latest joint (pun intended) bangs. Puff puff pass indeed.

Sorry, Snoop. Not a huge fan of "Gangbang Rookie." But since we are getting the record as a part of his new weekly series, and not his upcoming full-length album, I get the sense that he realized he wasn't a huge fan either.

i thought the production on this one is pretty damn good. i like snoop delivery not the greatest track but i would put this in heavy rotation.

Thought this would have been better like it doesnt have that last mealesque/blue carpet ingredient that used to have its like watching bhop box now, used to be amazing and still kind of, sort of, in a way, is. I suppose just not what we are used to. (im not knocking bhop i mean what he does is 100 times on what snoop does. Down with pascal!)

In a lot of ways I actually enjoyed this one. No one's got a cooler style than Snoop, and while I think a lot of his recent material has been a little watered down, it's nice to hear him moving back towards something a little more OG.

Im not sure why the reviews are so low on this one. Personally Im glad to see Snoop back on the "smooth OG" tip. However, the feature really brings this one down. Would have been 4 stars if it was just Snoop.
