Wiz Khalifa - Smokin On
Artist: Wiz Khalifa
Featuring: Snoop Dogg , Juicy J
Producer: Drumma Boy
Album: Mac and Devin go to High School Official Soundtrack
Label: Rostrum/Atlantic/RRP
Booth readers, do you enjoy burning herb? Well, you may like to smoke, but you can be damn sure you ain’t smokin’ what Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa are Smokin On. The latest single off the kush-loving tag-team’s Mac & Devin Go to High School soundtrack, this cut finds the twosome gloating about the self-evident fact that their bud is far superior to any strain that you or I are likely to hit in our lifetimes. Over Drumma Boy‘s instrumental, a street-ready affair that builds from stark synth-percussion verses to a brass-fortified chorus, the Pittsburgh young gun and the West Coast elder statesmen attempt to describe the potency of the sh*t they’ve been toking on. Three 6 co-founder Juicy J goes above and beyond the call of duty on his closing verse, incorporating the Mary Jane into a potent cocktail of intoxicants: “I done popped a pill and hit the lean behind it / Where my mind? Somebody help me find it.” Fans can find this smokers’ anthem and many more blunted bangers on the Mac & Devin soundtrack LP, due out December 13 and pre-orderable now on iTunes.

Ehhhh... Wiz fans will love it, but I don't. Very formulaic, not overly memorable, and better suited as a soundtrack throw in (instead of a single selection or highlighted promo effort).

I like this beat by Drumma Boy. Wiz has a good flow on this track. I like the catchy chorus and I'm definitely going to see this stoner movie! Snoop put it down too. I'll be playing this back a few more times...

This is not a chill song, this is much dirtier! Nor is this purely soundtrack material, sorry Z can't agree with you on this one. This has a nasty beat and sick flow by all of em!

The verse from Snoop is dope, was definitely the highlight of the track. The production from drumma boy and the hook from wiz were also tight.
Juicy J has mastered ignorant rap... His verses are always somehow entertaining despite the fact his flow sucks & his lyrics are rubish |

I usually dont like synth-heavy beats, but this one is very polished. Wiz steps up his flow on this one and its one of Snoops best verses in years. Juicy J really doesnt deserve to share a mic with these guy though. Dude is garbage. I can see DJs spinning this and cutting off his verse.

Wiz and Snoop rapping about trees, I never saw this one coming. :) No, but the two certainly give a good effort, nothing legendary, nothing bad either.

Really catchy hook. Snoop & Wiz have good verses & Juicy J does his thing (I mean that in a good way)
I always find myself wanting to go back and re-rate a song after I've heard it a bit more so I need a little while to perfect my rating system but for now 3 solid stars. |

Solid track. It's interesting to hear Snoop over a dope Lex Luger style track. I'll admit, I'm a fan of Juicy's verse too. Nice work
