Rap royalty Snoop Dogg and Jay-Z join forces for the appropriately titled Kings G-Mix to Snoop’s latest single I Wanna Rock. The internets have been posting rumors of this collabo ever since Snoop’s album Malice in Wonderland was released and you can tell that Jay wanted to live up to the hype as he rides the original Scoop Deville beat perfectly with lines like, “It’s no Biggie, I’m the king now.” On a related note, whatever happened to switching up the beat for a remix? (Shrugs.) I don’t know, but I can see why the duo went in over the initial track; the eerie synth instrumental sounds like it could have come off Blueprint 3, and Jigga rips it accordingly. While the beat may be the same, the Doggfather blesses us with two fresh verses of that classic West Coast flow – what more could you ask for? If you’re digging this remix g-mix then go cop Snoop’s More Malice, a deluxe edition to Malice in Wonderland, coming this March.

The original was one of the better songs on the album and I'd say this is a bit better due to the addition of Jay-Z. This is a dope collabo. Glad all of the verses were new.

Real happy to see Jay jump on this... if for no other reason than to make this PSA: RAPPERS, STOP REMIXING THIS F!@KING SONG.

Thank you, now go back to enjoying this dope Scoop Deville production.

Both the original and this one are great (of course Jay-Z takes it to another level). I like this, because all you have to do is see "Snoop Dogg ft. Jay-Z" to know it's going to be everything you expect plus some.

If I could, I would smack Jay-Z for continuing to compare himself to Biggie. Jay has said more of Biggie's lines than Biggie said them himself LOL.

Nice collabo from two legends. The song was hot but Jay being on this really takes it up a notch and I'm glad Snoop came with new verses.

@mmcoolman2000, Jay keeps Big's name alive, when he brings his name up. True, he does use his rhymes a little too much but when he does you think of Big and his own song. I remember hearing D.O.A., wondering what was the Biggie song that Jay spit.

What More Can I Say:
I'm not a biter
I'm a writer
For myself and others
I say a B.I.G. verse
I'm only biggin up my brother
Biggin up my borough

I agree, but how is a listener differentiate when an artists "bites" or just "biggin up" someone?

Production has always been the highlight of this track, Scoop DeVille board work is sick on this. The addition of Jay dosnt really add anything in my opinion, as he spat a average verse by his standards.

Orginal = The Remix

Jay-Z sounding like a groupie always talking bout Biggie!!
Anyway the song was already hot before. Jay-Z does less than average with his empire state of mind flow!! Same flow.... come on man switch it up Jay!!

Am I the only one who was a little disapointed by Jay's verse. It was dope, but as soon as I heard this track had dropped I was hoping for an instant classic, and think we're all agreed that it's not a classic, right?

Eh, I was expecting more from a track with a sick beat and two legends. For whatever reason I'm just not feeling Jay on this track. Snoop's flow and voice just seem like a better fit for this production than Jay's.

maybe i'm reading too much into Jay's last line, but could that be considered a diss? "it's no biggie, I'm just the king now" we know frank white's the king of ny, and arguably the best ever. i think that was jay proclaiming he's surpassed BIG, which i guess isn't necessarily a diss, we can't hold on to the idea that BIG or Pac or Rakim will always be the greatest, shouldn't we want to keep getting better and better.

Sorry, tangent, lol. i like the original better, but it's still a banger

Not as classic as a record with Jay-z and Snoop should be, but it is definitely a decent track and a slight improvement on the original.

much better than the original for sure. I think jay bein on the track kinda forces snoop to step it up a lil bit rather than the rest of the album. other than that two minute warnin track, which is haaaaarrrrd

If you know the songs by the artist (BIG) then you'll hear the "bite" or "biggin up" that was done from the other artist (Jay-Z).

Jay-Z went in on this ish with his unparalleled wordplay and name drops. Snoop on the other hand, stays busy with basic rhymes but as always makes up for it with his laid-back but never lazy delivery. And this epic beat will always get your speakers burst in bassphobia... BANGER!!!

[Jay-Z]

Hold up,
I wanna rock right now,
My name is HOV and I came to shake the town,
Yeah your boy internationally known,
But I’m from the hood got a pocket full of stones,
I used to cop Rob Base turn it into EZ Rock,
Just to stay Dougie Fresh,
All that sh!ts the easy rock
Used to Chef Raekwon,
Give fiends the Ghostface,
Ya’ll know my Forte,
I just might catch a dope case,
ennhhhhhhh,
I Mastered the P,
With connects in the West,
So I’m heavy in the D
ennhhhhhhhh,
The boy still Snoop around
Since a pup I been Kurupt,
And I fcuk with the Dogg Pound,
ennhh, Roc Nation is the game now,
Dope lyrics is the only thing I sling now,
I get the job done, I put the Kane down,
It’s no Biggie, huh, I’m just the king now!

[Chorus]

I wanna rock right now, rock-rock-right now
I wanna rock right now, rock-rock-right now
I wanna rock right now, rock-rock-right now (SNOOP! DOGG!)
I wanna rock right now, rock-rock-right now (SNOOP! DOGG! SNOOP! DOGG!)
(HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY!) I wanna rock right now, rock-rock-right now
(HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY!) I wanna rock right now, rock-rock-right now

[Snoop Dogg]

G-Mix,
I was a fiend before I became a teen
I melted cabbage sacks instead of cones of ice cream
?? that's how the West was originated
fitted like pieces of puzzle, complicated
I drop the sack and try to wrap yes ya’ll
they try to bang em and say I’m too smart
cool because I don’t get upset
I call the King of East
catch a flight then I jet right back to the West
where my n!ggas is at
Scoop DeVille put it back on the map
like this like that while you roll in the back
lonely gat, haha, a hole in your back
I like the Whopper fcuk the Big Mac
run up on the Dog my gat go click clack
and that's fo sho the reason why
Man I don’t know so lets go cuzzz,

[Chorus]

[Snoop Dogg]

Boss dogg chillin', lookin like a million
Yeah, n!gga got it, Imma leave it to my children,
Tonight I’m on some other sh!t, and baby lovin' it
Hella fast, grip dey ass like the oven mitt
I’m gooned up, boy! Rich as fcuk, boy!
Black and gold brakes, that’s my truck, boy
I’m on my Eastside, sh!t I’m workin
I got the party goin, and it’s jerkin
My n!ggas all long, we rollin out deck
Hoes gettin in, you betta pick a b!tch
‘Cause when I shut it down, the party’s over wit
She call me Superman, I’m on my Soulja sh!t
Boss Dogg, get ‘em, I sick ‘em and take ‘em home,
West Coast b!tch, I’m on my fcukin throne
I’m giggin on these hoes, do ‘em like dominoes
And slam ‘em on they back, and tell ‘em vamanos

[Chorus]
