Snoop may have tied the knot over a decade ago, but judging from his new single, Those Gurlz, you would never have guessed it. He really puts one down for the ladies, breaking out in full-on sensual-seduction mode. It would appear that the former coke-pushing Comptonite has become a starry-eyed softy. Helping him out is the production team of Teddy Riley, DJ Quik and Scoop DeVille, who provide a relaxed, romantic beat that samples the Bee Gees’ Too Much Heaven. But don’t worry, misogynists; Snoop doesn’t go totally soft. He still stays in touch with his thug side, casually throwing in that he “still don’t love hoes and respect what they say.” C’mon Snoop, what would Mrs. Dogg have to say about that? Those Gurlz appears on the OG’s new album, Ego Trippin’.
Note: The streaming of “Those Gurlz” has temporarily been suspended.
How many singles is Snoop gonna drop off of this album? I think he's just desperate now, because Im not feelin this track at all. To mellow and boring, he shoulda made a remix to My Medicine or somethin and ended it.
Snoops head looks like a peanut in preportion in the photo! Beats not doing anything for me, and Snoops flow doesent seperate this song to single status. I appreciate how they use an z instead of an s
See, now this is more like it! That medicine BS is wack as hell. This is one of my tracks on the album. The beat is so soulful. West Coast BBQ music. I can dig this all day. This was one of the top 4 songs on the album. Along with sexual eruption, SD is Out, One Chance, and Can't say Goodbye. I gotta admit this was a bad album over all, but this to me was a bright spot.
This is the fifth single (technically fourth, but lets not go there) off the album, cb, and from what I am being told... also the last one. This is a great SUMMER SONG (like Da Bo$$ kindly pointed out) and should help put him back into the rotation (so to speak). They should have come with this one 2 months ago.
This production is really dope! Teddy Riley eh? Dang, he brought a veteran out for this one. This is the best track I've heard from Snoop from this album. Reminds me of his "Beautiful" days. This sample is awesome. I hope a video surfaces for this. This is nice.
The music and the beat are very good...smooth production! Old school hip hop isn't my type normally, but in this song I'm really feeling it. What I don't like his Snoop...his voice doesn't fit the music, I would listen to the music alone without him rapping! It's ok, to be in rotation it should be re-done with Snoop singing...but again, the music is excellent!
This definitely has a summer feel to it. The production is pretty nice but i dont know if they needed the chipmunk voice thing. Otherwise snoop sounds good and laid back like always.
Aka mr new money, don't come at Patty like that fam. She's entitled to her own opinion. She gave a suitable review and stated what she liked it didn't like. It was an opinion and a well detailed one at that. Your review wasn't nearly as professional. A.k.a Mr. New Money: "This song old off the album ego trippin but this song go hard." You didn't state why you liked it, any details or nothing. That sounds like a sub-par music listener to me. Maybe you're the one who needs to go sit down somewhere until you learn some musical integrity, listening skills and not to mention, grammar. You gotta punctuate the letters at the beginning of a sentence. Enough said. Young Son has spoken player. Take heed and chillax.
I wanna echo what michaelhannah said. Everyone (not just aka mr new money) should remember to respect everyones opinions. If not, your negative comments are useless anyway because I'll just delete them. Don't knock someone's taste just because you don't agree with it. Check out our commenting policy if you're somehow confused by this concept. Enjoy the music!
Yea man Patty's a vet! Know ya place in the booth. We can get on each other but you NEW Money, you can't be on no bs! We'll have ta come see bout ya patna! We got ya back Pattycakes! =)
im new monie haha but yea man respek 2 evry1s opinion..also think peeps need to understand snoop bin out of the streets 'so to speak' for a while now.. he's still keepin it real by rappin bout what he knows now - he's a famly man too .. so u got to see where hs music is coming from now ..im sure he keeps his contacts in the hood but one thing u cant deny is he's keepin it real - snoop aint gang bangin or need to hustle like he use to - he's evolved as a person and is someone we that we can aspire to take example from .. but yea - luv the music & dont hate the playas!
Well thank u everybody (michael you surprised me, thanx!!!)for replying for me...aka mr new money I think you should wear some glasses, if you already don't...did I write I don't like this song? I wrote I LIKE IT! there's something I like and something I don't but I like it! it's the same, old problem...some people can't read! And well I'm pretty new to hip hop music so sometimes it's difficult for me to write good reviews...but at least I try!
This was one of the better tracks off Ego Tripin. But thats kinda unfortunate because this song wouldn't be anything on any other snoop album. Its okay though
his whole cd is an ego trip after your done listening and then reminisce you think wtf was i listening to. What is snoop doing?
This is tolerable.
1st the country song.
whats next? rock?
The background music is really good and jazzy. I would like to see this performed live! That way I would probably not hear the extremely ANNOYING voice during the chorus… why didn’t they use the real woman’s voice?! I don’t like chopped and screwed voices at all! This is not one of my favorites from the album and I’d not choose it as a single, but… it’s not a bad song either! Snoop is Snoop no matter where he gets his inspiration from, and that means GOOD!
PS: Nice to see everybody defending Patty, that was heartwarming but kinda funny though, I mean, like she’s a younger sister or something.. :p That’s why djbooth.net is the best music community there is: we “fight” each other like relatives do but we also stand for each other when it’s needed.
You sound mad ignorant fam. Please ban this fool. We don't care where you stay at, yo hood, none of that. This is the internet my dude. Shut up! LOL. Trying to be hard on the internet...lol....that's the funniest stuff I've ever heard. Oh, and WOW. I mean, we'll stand up for you when the time comes. LOL. Patty is hot though. LOL
k datz fine michael hannah....and i think itz cute how u like Patty:) haha. anyway, DIS iz betta then dat one country song he jus did...ugh dat wuz hor-a-bull! but i aint like-n DIS either....itz a 1.5 but imma still rate a 1. ive neva real-e been a fan of snoop.
THIS TRACK IS TERRIBLE...PLUS HOW MANY PRODUCERS CAN YOU HAVE ON A TRACK GOD DAMN.....PLUS ON THIS CD HE HAD OTHER ARTIST WRITE LYRICS FOR HIM SO THAT DIS-CREDITS THE TRACK EVEN MORE COME ON SNOOP YOU CAN DO WAAAYYYY BETTER THEN THIS....THIS BEAT REMINDS ME OF GOOD LOVE BY SHEEK
