Every artist goes through an ‘experimental’ phase during their career. Granted, most artists don’t last long enough to go through such a phase, so if and when it happens, it remains seldom and often forgotten. The incredibly talented Snoop Dogg, for example, has been around for a hot minute and has released a total of nine solo albums; none of them experimental in nature (unless you want to count all of his No Limit LPs). At the top of next year Snoop will release his tenth project, Ego Trippin’, which includes the buzz single, Sexual Eruption. Using T-Pain’s voice box effect, the Doggfather tries his hand at what could be deemed as ‘experimental’ music and suffice to say, it leaves listeners wondering if it is in fact they who are doing the trippin’.
wow for a min there i had to re check thought they got artist wrong..i've always like the soul flavour with snoops songs i can see this doin some damage on air play
we all know what Snoop is known for and its not singin!
so I figure I have to give this a 10 out of 10, if that is hime using a that voice box.
*but* maybe it can make anyone seem like they can sing?
but then I listen to the song closer and - every time they turn off the box he sounds soso, there for I will give this joint a 7.5 -10 for trying something different!
all though at this stage of the game and at his age he really has nothing to loose by doing something different!
You know Snoop's been looking to do something this 70's funk pimperation for a long time, he's at the point in his career (legend) that he can make almost anything work.
This is great record, but I was hoping for those Doggystyle days!!! It's crunch time to bring the West back! Come on Snoop...you are suppose to be giving up rapping for singing in at least 10 years.
T-Pain? Come on Snoop, you are better than that!
Actually, Snoop your career has been done for awhile.
Listening to this, his next tracks with be with Justin Timberlake or Chris Brown.
sorry to come back on this joint but I just finished a 79 minute mix and put this song in there and I realize that its better then I thought I will actually use the legit scale system and give snoop true props on this one
dang. this song just surprised the ish outta me. i thought it was featuring t-pain at first but they forget to mention it. its weird cuz i like it, but im still trippin that its snoop. he really tryna lose his gangsta...wow.
snoop dogg can do watever he wants in this point in the game and you know if you have t-pain it's going to be on the radio, a song for the girls to get down and dirty too in the club
sorry, but i kind of like this song and stop comparing his experiment with the old him! Your missing the whole point and oh yeah for the hatas check his airplay because they playin it crazy in the MIA and when i visited the ATL too! So say wat ya want but his past albums and songs have been big hits, and it hasn't been that long ago, saying the same shit like when "drop it like it's hot" came out!!!!
look at how much his singles and radio he's got from his last albums, so he maybe old but he still doing big things in the game that these new rappers are scared to go out of the box!lol
to be totally honest.... im bumpin to this song right now over and over this song is the shit .. and snoop brought fire and he can actually do a little singin and it sounds good wit the voice box this my jam right now 5 stars
REAL TALK....(SNOOP) IS VERY CREATIVE...HE'S BEEN THAT WAY SINCE DAY ONE AND HE'S ONE OF VERY FEW RAP ARTIST THAT CAN PULL THIS OFF. I KNOW EVERYBODY HAS THEIR OWN OPINION BUT THIS SONG IS TIGHT AS HELL TO ME.
More Rappers shouls start thinkin about doin somethin different in the video clip. Don't get me wrong I luv Girls walkin around in no close too but put some imagination in it. Well done Snoop
