If your memory hasn’t been eroded by long-term use of a certain recreational drug, you’ll probably recall Smoke DZA‘s Marley & Me (Remix), a cut hailed as an early candidate for “Best Smoking Song of ‘09” when it hit our front page back in mid-January.  Well, that record may have met its match; today, we are proud to bring listeners the exclusive world premiere of Kush Blow, the first leaked track off Smoke’s forthcoming, DJBooth-cosponsored Good Talk (Vol. 8) mixtape.  This time around, the Harlem native teams up with dancehall-pop star Sean Kingston to—you guessed it—get really, really high.  As the duo move from puffing spliffs to “straight Mike Phelpsing it” through a bong, Cozmo serves up an appropriately chilled out synth-brass instrumental. In a move sure to please our resident stoners and leave our competitors green (ha, ha) with envy, Smoke has promised to send the Booth a brand new record each week leading up to Good Talk (Vol. 8)‘s April 15th release—stay tuned for plenty more bowl-packing anthems in the coming weeks.

The only reason this rolls into rotation is because it is obviously a song that you can smoke and vibe to... The production is nice and mellow most of the time, and the hook sounds pretty cool (even tho I normally dont like SK too much) I really didnt like the first verse from DZA, but he picked it up a lot on the 2nd and the 3rd waz OK... Not anything special at all, but the subject matter gets it some rotation.

Smoke blew me away on the last verse (pun fully intended), but I would have liked to hear Kingston get a little more into his hook duties. Cozmo is solid as always on the production tip.

Overall, nice inclusion on the new mixtape... dropping this spring!

@Izzy62 - for a smoking song (which is going to be placed on a mixtape - not an album-), a 1 star is kinda brutal, eh? (but you are entitled to your opinion).

Sean Kingston sounds really off on this beat. Smoke DZA is the only thing listenable on this.

i think i can sit back and burn to this, the only thing i aint feelin is the first verse, it had a horrible flow and didnt follow along with the beat, kinda sounded like he bit off of someone elses flow, i just cant put my finger on it right now. otherwise for a mixtape song, i think its pretty good

This is sort of a weed blowing anthem, eh? I feel that in the first verse he tried too hard w/ the punchlines and it came across as silly, but then again this song is supposed to be fun, right? All in all, I'm diggin' it!
