After realizing that his pending sophomore album, Boss of All Bosses, would likely never be released if he stayed with Geffen, Slim Thug decided to go for a brand new solo deal. Following the DJ Toomp-produced Theme Song and his Boss Hogg Outlawz crew’s recent semi-hit, the Ray J-assisted Keep It Playa, the H-Towner is back in the saddle with a new single. Though he “ain’t dropped in three years,” Thugga reassures everyone that he is just as strong now as back when he went platinum on the radio-ready I Run. With a smooth-yet-uncredited hook and a strong beat by ‘08’s top hit-producer, Jim Jonsin, I Run is in perfect position to help Slim gain new fans, while not jeopardizing his most loyal fanbase. Boss of All Bosses is currently set to be released in the first quarter of ‘09.

I find this song kinda corny. Forgive me but that sample on the hook just isn't doin it for me. The beat hits hard thugga is cool, but has never really broken through for some bonified heat for me. This is playable, aside from that hook.

I'm in 30 seconds on this one and I'm feelling kinda sick in my stomach cause who ever is singing the hook on this makes me think of something that would of played in Disco in the 70s and I'm even willing to bet this could be a sample from then but he ruined a possibly good song. This all coming from a big fan of slim thug...PLEASE PLEASE don't be the single or atleast take this guy off the hook cause the rest of the song is on point.

Beat is fire, Slim on his point, but sampling one of the crappiest things to come out of the 80's, Flock of Seagulls. That aint right. Try the Thompson Twins next time at least.

I'm really feeling this song. Slim came back hard despite his roadblocks. If he does change the chorus singer, I'd be interested to know who he chooses and how different it would sound. If it were up to me, I'd say keep it, even though it samples an oldie, but truthfully what song doesn't these days.

Slim is one of my favorite artists out of Houston, but Jim's production stole the show here. That beat is hard.

I don't like Slim Thug's receedin' hairline wit braids havin ass but this beat goes pretty hard with subwoofers. I think the sample is sick as hell. Sounds rasta. Slim Thugs lyrics are weak now tho. All in all- beastmode on the beat. BANGER!
