When haters start spewing unfounded criticism, most emcees respond with outpourings of vicious bile (see K. Sparks’ F*ck Outta Here, also featured today). Slim Thug, however, is nothing if not an exemplary Southern gentleman; when doubters are running their mouths, he first politely requests that they, “Please Don’t Do That.” Then, if they don’t listen, he snaps on their asses. With I Run currently the focus of promotional efforts, Don’t Do That has yet to be considered for single selection, but the record has a lot going for it: Konvict Muzik hitmaker Akon‘s hook and slow-burning, synth-driven production mesh perfectly with Thug’s confrontational yet well-mannered verses. “Hater records” are hotter than ever these days, so don’t be surprised if this cut ends up becoming the second official single off Slim Thug’s forthcoming sophomore LP, Boss of All Bosses, set to hit stores March 24th.

I'm feelin this... real laid back, but in your face. I love the Akon tracks when he steps away from the love songs, so this works for me... definately not great, but in rotation.

Far from great, and a little too simple to be appreciated. Akon was pretty lazy wit this production and vocals, and Slim picked him up just for the name. Gets really boring. They could have made a hard track together, but they didn't strike gold with this one.

Slim Thug made a CAREER (before you know who he was) out of R&B-less, non-major-featured rap music. Now that he isn't on a major label any longer (bye, Interscope), he needs to go back to what made him a independent-platinum artist. Koch allows their artists lots of freedom... he needs to exercise and just be himself. This isn't him. "I Run" is him.

"They say money bring you problems so I got a ton" haha like that simple line. Always liked slim thugs delivery and sound and this is no exception. And i like the laid back beat on the hook, if it had been booming like many akon hooks I dont think slim thugs sound would have sounded as good on it. He needs those laid back simple beats to go nuts on.

This song is to mellow, im a big fan of Akon's work, but this track seem like they did it in 5 minutes. Slim thug went hard on this though, but if the chorus was more meaningful then it would be a banger.

This is iight Akon's hook is average. Slim Thug verses are pretty good and nails his point of the song. They needed some more beats its too blank while he raps. Overall Im not really feeling this

This song is aight. Production is decent and Akon's hook is average for him. That1kid13 - I don't know how you don't like Akon's voice, I think he has the best voice I've heard. It's cool though, I respect you opinion. This song is in rotation. Not Slim Thug's best.

Damnit I was excited to see my man Slim Thugga back on the booth. Already Platinum is a classic in my book, but man I can't even f*cks with "I Run," and this song isn't doing much for me either! I'll still cop Boss of All Bosses just cuz I'm a fan!

Chorus is so weak it's unbelievable... was it that bland on purpose?
Some interesting sound features on the background, that was fresh! I like Slim Thug's distinctive voice, but I couldn't care less for the lyrics... "They say money bring you problems so I got a ton" what's good about this frozilla33?! :o |

This is a chill song, its not a club song, so just because its bpm is particularly slow doesnt mean it deserves 1 star. This is a very nice production, Slim Thug and Akon are interesting because of their polar opposite voices. Definitely in rotation.

I like Akon in the hook but I don't like Slim Thug in the verses. The melody is cool, the production is pretty, maybe a lil too slow. Not the best I've heard

Konvict Music production! Akon's production is hot. I love Akon on the hook. He's a hook maker fo sho! Slim Thug and his Durrdy Sout flow is classic, but very simplistic. Its a good track for the trap nuggs to mob out to. I personally like more of a club or straight street feel. This is kinda in between the two. But I think I'll throw it in rotation.
