Any time Dr. Dre puts his name on a track, it’s probably something to get excited about. The esteemed producer will contribute at least one beat to Slim Thug’s second album, Boss of All Bosses, which drops early next year. The simple piano melody, heavy bass, and handclaps make B*tch I’m Back instantly recognizable as Dre’s work. As he has proved time and time again, sometimes less really is more when it comes to beats. Lyrically, Slim sticks to the familiar, flaunting his street cred amidst announcements of his triumphant return. Criminally underrated guest Devin The Dude is also his typical self, chronicling the various issues that street bosses face on a daily basis. It all comes together neatly as a windows-down, summertime whip jam.
I really enjoyed this tune. It made me want to kick a baby!! I like rap. I took my dog for a walk tonight. I like dj booth. Go one tree hill. Go Michael Phelps. go tiger woods. Golffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff rulesssssssssssssssssssss.
Never have been a big fan of Slim Thug or the Texas rap movement (all of it is a little too slow for me), but this song is pretty hot. The beat is what makes the song rather than Slim Thug, so I wont be jumping on Slims banwagon anytime soon. Somethin cool to ride out too though.
Wow, this track is really really hot. The beat is so sick.. something about Dre's production instantly makes bob my head back and forth. Good flow by Slim Thugga.. and Devin is an excellent addition to the track.. wish we heard a verse from him.
Dr. Dre on this production? Oh snap! This is a real West Coast style soulful vibe with that Texas wood-grain gripper lacing it. Slim Thug has never been the hottest rapper out, but I also liked most of the stuff he dropped from solo joints to feature verses (i.e Gwen Stefani's "Luxurious"). He stayed pretty sincere on this joint, no doubt. I'll throw this in rotation.
DRE KEPT THE BEAT SIMPLE FOR SLIM THUGGA ON THIS AND IT DEFINATELY HELPS SLIM THUGS RETURN WIT HIS LAID BACK FLOW AND LYRICS DEVON THE DUDE SURPRISED ME ON THE HOOK BUT HE DID IT NICELY I CAN DEF PLAY THIS WHILE BLAZING A BLUNT COZ THE THUG IZ BACK..STILL TIPPN,SIPPN WOODGRAIN GRIPPN G G G G U KNOW
Unfortunately I often have opposite tastes...I don't like this, it sounds really boring! I guess I should listen to the lyrics to understand the high ratings. The beat is nothing special and their flows either. I'm sorry!
Yea you probably should start listening to the lyrics for sure. Thats 50% of the song! You cant really rate 50% of something. The beat is simple for a reason, and that is to just listen to the lyrics.. Although they are not the best rhymes by any means. So maybe try to start paying attn to the rhymes, it could change your whole prospective! And im not hatin' just statin'! Much Love Patteezee
Yeah u r right, but I understand only some of them. Btw they are an important part of a song, but not the main to me! Even if I understood the lyrics, to me this remains ok. But thanx for stating your opinion
I cannot understate the importance of Slim Thug's departure from Geffen. His album would have NEVER dropped. His connects in the game run deep, cough dre cough, and his new found independence will allow this new project to drop off at the top of the year. Hot track.
This is one of the better beats I've heard in a long time. Dr. Dre is a genius. Slim kills this. Devin The Dude on the hook was good. I wish he would've had a verse.
slim been going hard always...he the big boss of the nawf..had money independent before he got on a major...i think the thing that kinda held him back from being bigger is his flow kinda like t.i. sometimes they lines just short to the point alotta times
