Slim The Mobster - Back Against The Wall
Artist: Slim The Mobster
Featuring: Dr. Dre
Producer: Dr. Dre & Jake One
Album: War Music
Label: Aftermath
Ok, yes, the race is on to see if Dr. Dre will release Detox before the coming of the apocalypse (he’s only got a few months if you believe the Mayans) but the man’s not exactly relaxing. In addition to founding an extraordinarily profitably line of headphones, he’s also helping to build the careers of artists like Kendrick Lamar and Slim the Mobster. Oh, and just in case you forgot, the man can still cook up a hell of a track. Case in point Back Against the Wall, a head-nod inducing cut that made its world premiere right here on The DJBooth. Dre and the always stellar Jake One put together a next level beat that’s simultaneously smooth and banging while headliner Slim the Mobster lays down some of the unapologetically gangster flows we’ve come to expect from the Compton native. Add in a catchy hook from Sly and vocal assistance from the Aftermath head honcho himself and you’ve got, well, an announcement: “Motherf**ker I’m back.” For even more Dre-approved hip-hop be sure to cop Slim’s new album War Music, available for free stream and direct download exclusively via The DJBooth.

I LOVED this beat the first time I heard it on TI's album, and it just never fades away. This beat is straight CRACK! Dr. Dre ripped this. Slim The Mobster really rocked this. Damn...another Banger!

I really like this one, but it'll be definitely better without those annoying gun shots on the back. besides that I got nothing much to complain. all rounded banger this is.

Not even a co-sign from The Doctor himself - or anything else on God's green earth, for that matter - can save Slim's career. But this joint is cool.
