Slaughterhouse - Microphone
Artist: Slaughterhouse
Producer: Alchemist
Album: Slaughterhouse
Label: Shady/Interscope
If it weren’t for the Microphone, there would be no hip-hop—without them, live shows wouldn’t be the same, and recording would be, well, impossible. As evidenced by this new cut off their forthcoming full-length, Slaughterhouse are well aware of the mic’s importance. The lyrical supergroup aren’t quite encouraging their proliferation, though—actually, Joe Budden, Crooked I, Joell Ortiz, and Royce Da 5’9” spend most of the track advocating for restricting said devices to those who actually know how to use them. The beat, a thin, minor-key piano arpeggio with sparse bass, comes courtesy of The Alchemist; it should sound quite familiar if you’re a fan of Tim Westwood’s BBC Radio program, as it was recently used by Eminem for a freestyle on the show. If you dig this hard-hitting track, be sure to pick up their collective debut album (due out 8/11), because there are currently no plans to promote the record as an official single.

Im sure by now we all couldn't resist ourselves to check out the "leaked" album.
Alchemist's beat for this one, and it has that horror feel to it, which is perfect for who’s spitting over it. It’s Slaughterhouse, so you know what to expect ... BANGER!!! |

This song has all the features to be a banger, pity that it's a bit repetitive. great production and energetic flow! 3.5

Imma repeat myself: this is my favorite rap group ever!!! Cuz it's not just about the lyrics (which are top notch)... energy, delivery/flow but, above all, musicality in their rap approach (syncopated and metrically built)! These guys make music and approach the beat accordingly, not just spit.
"if you are what you eat how come I'm not pu$$y" XD |

This entire album is SICK. Seriously, the best collaborative project since Wu Tang in their hey day. The lyricism is top shelf and the production matches it perfectly.
And the fellas are right - the mic is not meant for everyone to use. |

This beat is hot, I see why Em flowed on it. The verses by these dudes are all hot. Big fan of Royce and Joe.

I love this track right here. The chrous gets a little annoying and repetitive but each one comes hard and the alchemist's beat is dope. I'm not sure if this is the best group, Clipse is for sure my favorite, but with tracks like these they starting to change my mind.

Aug. 11th just won't come quick enough. This has been my most anticipated album since the group was announced because of sick tracks like this. So far I've felt every track I've heard.
