In DJ Z‘s exclusive interview with Royce Da 5’9” earlier this week, the Detroit emcee made a few, well,  controversial comments on his Slaughterhouse brethren, notably stating that his only serious rival in the group was Crooked I.  With all the competition going on among the foursome, the title of this brand new, unreleased cut (recorded Tuesday night) seems fitting.  Fight Club finds Royce, Crook, Ortiz, and Budden taking the gloves off for an all-out verbal brawl, backed by a pumped-up, piano and cymbal-heavy instrumental by Rockville Centre’s Frequency.  With all four emcees firing off their most potent lyrical ammunition, I certainly can’t pick a favorite, though Crook’s contribution, which references the emcee’s close call in last Friday’s shooting incident, would be high on my list.  As always, I’ll leave it it to Booth reviewers to decide who came out on top and who got slaughtered.

I think I've figured it out now... The reason why they don't pop hard like I wish they would is because They're all Lyrics... Not made for the radio or anything else. Strictly for people who like punchlines. Anyway Great lyrics but its a boring song...

All 4 are good lyricists, though im not really feeling the song overall. Its probably because of the boring beat (wait, it is because of the boring beat).

Personally, i liked Budden the most on this track.
2.5

I wanted to give this 2 stars, but I couldn't wit these 4 lyrical dudes on the same song. The lyrics alone are worthy of a 3, but I agree wit JWorthy about them not poppin like they should.

The production on here was OK, but very boring, especially on a song wit 4 lyrical dude supposed to be just wailin on each other. You'd think they'd pick a hard beat to go at it like that. All 4 of them are cool, but Joell stands out to me cuz his voice and flow are very different from the other three.

Lyrics bring this one way up, didn't care for that same generic underground production. Flow is steady for everyone though, listenable.

I don’t have any problems with the beat, it creates the tension there’s supposed to be.
It’d be bad if this is the only vibe we get from them though.
They are all great “fighters”!

When you create a fearsome foursome, who annihilate the production work they are handed, you grow to expect the same quality work everytime out. This, while it is obviously just an online-buzz record, doesn't hold a candle to their earlier releases. Rotation, just because, but higher expectations remain for the future.

ok now everyone talks about hip hop is dead rappers dont got lyrics now and blah blah blah, they go and give one of the most lyrical tracks, a low rating? a 3? but they give what they see as "killing" hiphop like 4-5 stars? you all dont make sense. slaughterhouse is hip hop, and from what im seeing way underrated, the beat might not bump hard, but its decent, and it fits with the lyrics cuz thats what their aim is, to be heard, i dont care what none of ya say this deserves a 4.5 or better nothin less.

Gotta agree with Z. This one was solid, esp from a lyrical standpoint but when you put all 4 of these guys together, I kind of expect a little more.

I completely quote J Worthy...songs like this are solid for sure, but not made for the radio. As I'm not anglosaxon and I don't understand everything they say, I tend to consider more the production/flow...so this isn't for me! But it's solid and it deserves 3 stars

A song that has a good beat with good lyrics is rare, how come we can never meet in the middle? Have this song with a good beat and good lyrics.

Beats boring, would've been better with a better beat.

The beat is average but still deserves a 4 star for the lyrics. I agree with Royce Crooked is the top spitter in the group and makes all them come harder.

if rap was all about beats alone why bother listening to hip hop?? Hip Hop is about your lyrical abilities not if it sounds good in the club I give it a 5!!!!!!!!
