The 225th entry in DJBooth.net and StreetAmmo‘s Exclusive Freestyle Series comes courtesy of Slaine, the Northeastern vet previously introduced to readers as one-fifth of underground supergroup La Coka Nostra. On his brand new, exclusive Prelude to the Poison freestyle, the Suburban Noize signee flows over original boardwork by Silvamore. Slaine is currently preparing for the May re-release of his latest LP, A World With No Skies. In addition, he recently completed filming his first episode on NBC primetime series The Cape, tentatively scheduled to air Feb 28. Fans will be able to catch the emcee touring with House of Pain on their national comeback tour, which will run from 3/14 to 4/28.

But wait, it gets doper. For 15% off on all of StreetAmmo’s fresh gear, visit streetammo.com and enter the exclusive code, “streetbooth”. We know, we know. You’re welcome.

Big thanks to Slaine for cooking up a freestyle for our Series. He starts off real aggressive and impresses early, but as the two minutes come to a close he slows down and looses the steam he had running with him. A worthy addition to our collection.

You are right the first 12 bars or maybe 16 are so dope that it loses a little steam toward the end, but not enough to keep it from being nasty. The end feels more like a off the dome freestyle though than the beggining. I like it a lot. Slaine is so slept on that Im almost glad he is, because he isnt overexposed. And I like him just as much as an actor. The Town and Gone Baby Gone were both better for the roles he played in them.

I respect Slaine's the down-to-earth sound. It's gritty and confident, though I have to admit that the "clinic" line made me cringe a bit. You'll know what I'm talking about.

As Z and Marijuan pointed it, it loses energy toward the end.

I'm looking forward to hearing more tracks in the future, maybe with a bit more polish.

I liked it, it had more of a "freestyle" feel to me than other tracks in the series and also he also went darker than people usually go which made it different. Plus Slaine is from the Bean so I gotta show love for the homie paving the way for people like me and EMS! Big Ups

Can't wait to hear this one blow up on the radio. The ladies are going to love this.

That's a backwards way of saying that not everyone will like Slaine's aggressive flow, but I don't think he really gives a f**k. Catch me in the right mood and this could be a new anthem.
