Inspired to rap at age nine after hearing Chi Ali‘s Age Ain’t Nothin’ But A Number, Brooklyn native Skyzoo has long been one of NYC’s biggest underground names. Having released his newest mixtape, Corner Store Classic Remixed, as an iTunes exclusive, Skyzoo is ready to show off his top honor album status in the ‘BK School of Hard Knocks’ and in the process describe The Necessary Evils of his life. Accenting the beat is veteran producer Needlz (Buck‘s Let Me In, 50‘s Piggy Bank), whose distinctive hi-hats will surely get those Evils bangin’ on the block. With independents gaining credibility during hip-hop’s ‘Great Depression,’ most fans figured Skyzoo would be signed to a major by now– then again, the price of freedom can never be matched.
The beat on here is really Grimy! I am loving the production! He can spit better than average and I would really like to hear more from him on da Booth! I will definitely throw it in rotation in the MP3! I just need one more track to really know what it is!
This is definitely NYC music. I'll be waiting for more tracks on Skyzoo. He did a spectacular job on this track. Beat is straight. I am digging the gregorian chant like-humming in the background.
What was that? Do I hear a movie wants to use Skyzoo for the soundtrack? Can't you just picture a dude walking down an alley in NYC? It's late at night, he has a pistol packed in his pants and is ready to pull the trigger at a moments notice.... Naw? Maybe? I guess I have too much fun sometimes.
when its comes to this track i wouldnt expect nothin less from skyzoo hes been rockin' since way back but since hes an underground rapper he hasn't gotten as much respect as he deserved but he earned it with this 1
Damn, This is HOTT! Definitely a banger. This production is seriously top 5 i have heard yet this year and Skyzoo's flow is crazy. Right now it is a banger, but i really believe if a bigger name was on this track we would all be rating this a 4 or 5. For that I will give this a classic. Everything is here, except for the artist being big name. I know who Skyzoo is but not everyone does. 5/5!
damn love the "awwwwwwww" voices in the background ....
makes the beat hard and intrestin at the same time ....
dude just st8 out flows threw the whole song ....
wow im surprised
This song is okay...I don't like the steady humm in the production. I feel like I'm listening to music in a Catholic church. I don't think it's something I'd give a good listen to more than once.
This is ok! Dark Beat, dudes tone is kinda boring to me. His flow is good though. I think this is a mixtape song , nothin I'd expect to hear in a club or on an album. 3 stars
