It was almost two years ago to the day that the world was truly introduced to Skylar Grey when she provided the vocals to Dr. Dre’s I Need A Doctor alongside Eminem. So the timing couldn’t be more perfect for the two to re-unite on Skylar’s new single C’mon Let Me Ride. Produced by Alex Da Kid, who also produced (you guessed it) I Need a Doctor, Let Me Ride features a brighter and more pop beat than we’re used to from Alex as he uses Queen’s Bicycle Race for inspiration. Similarly Skylar’s vocals are lighter and more playful than we’re used to hearing…although a schizophrenicly humorous verse from Em is certainly nothing new. If this one has you down to ride with Skylar and Slim Shady you’re in luck. Em will be executive producing Grey’s upcoming Don’t Look Down album, due out this coming spring.

I really liked Skylar Grey's voice on I Need a Doctor. Not so much here. Eminem straight ripped this though. Those lines were dope.

Haha why all the hatin. This song is hilarious and is surely gonna be a hit on the radio. The anthem chorus is solid. And Em, hahha, just wow. He's beyond amazing, I laughed through his entire shred fest. One more huge plus, the music video...just hilarious. Take it for what it is people, I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard during a song.

Oh no.. Skylar needs to get back to her old style because this new pop wannabe mainstream thing is not working! This song does no justice for her voice and- ugh honestly I'm really sad right now.. Eminem's flow was good though of course. But the little subliminal message to this track came off as childish instead of sexual. It was an attempt though

you know what....i think you guys are taking this song a bit too seriously lool. It was extremely laid back and something that was meant to be candy girl-flirty kinda. i think in this case that feeling was pulled off nearly perfectly well. so, 3.5 round up to 4.

REAL TALK: (EM) was just @*#$! AROUND and he still went in... and same with (SKYLAR) ...she didn't sound her BEST on this track but it still got a nice little vibe to it.

Wait, wasn't Skylar Grey that emo chick always dressed in some funeral shit and singing about being invisible? So, THAT Skylar Grey is now half naked on her single cover and singing monstruosity like "If you got a bee sting, I can suck out all the poison"?! Skylar doesn't have the charisma to sell this song. There trying to be humorous but she just sounds bland and forced. Em needs to stop getting on trash like this. Like the Pink and Rihanna songs his verse songs like a throwaway. Something he wrote in 3 minutes.

All you "hardcore" rap fans, ease up on the ratings, this song is catchy and funny with dose of humour which most of current mainstream singles are missing. And I like Em's verse.

Whoa from the description I was expecting this; and then I read that Em's producing the album and was like I couldn't imagine.
But then I watched the video, the only truly thing I can say is LOL. This is defo interesting, light-hearted but in a freaky fashion. This is very poppy and seems to make the mick for me and what audience it's expecting. But for it's outrageousness I like it. |

Let me be clear, this song will probably not get any urban radio play. This is not one for the hood, but mainstream radio will eat this up. Suburbia will enjoy Skylar's voice, laugh at the video, and fall in love with Em's flow.
I'll be bumping this at the next few parties I go to, and I know it will go over well. |
