When a rapper does a song that sounds like a complaint, readers comment “stop bitchin!” Similarly, when a rapper does a song about a worn-out or clichéd topic, like money, cars, jewels, women, blow, etc…, readers tend to comment “we’ve heard this before, boring.” So, what have we learned thus far? Rappers shouldn’t brag about their wealth or lack thereof; get creative, be original and have fun. Taking note is Virginia rapper Skillz (famous for his year end ‘rap-up’), who is joined by multiple Grammy Award nominee, Common, on the new single So Far So Good. Both MCs explain that while they haven’t yet taken over the world, they like where they’re at and refuse to complain. Finally, a song where boasting sounds good…
I'm definitely a Common fan and now a blooming Skillz fan. The mix sounds generic on here though. I take it that they probably didn't do their verses in the same studio. The engineer should have caught that. But the song is real chill. I'm digging it.
yo im feelin this joint...skillz brings tha lyrics...and for common?...wut do i need to say?...didnt he win an award for his lyrical "skillz"?...im downloadin this one when i get to tha crib...~
This is the first song Skillz came with that is actually good that isn't a yearly wrap-up joint. Skillz really shows some flow here! Common makes the track even better. Good track right here. Maybe Skillz has a shot after all!
