Slip-N-Slide Records has gained a reputation for turning unknown acts into superstars, as evidenced by the success of Trick Daddy, Trina, Rick Ross, and Plies. Enter the label’s newest signee, NYC-turned-Miami resident Shonie, who has been getting her hustle on as a feature artist (see Single Again) and songwriter and is currently ready to set the R&B world on fire with the summer ‘09 release of her self-titled debut. On her new single, Shonie is so deeply in love with her man that she finds herself becoming uncharacteristically clingy; despite how many times she tries to stop, she just Can’t Let Go of him. Featuring a guest verse from arguably the best R&B-track guest verse rapper in the game (Fabolous) and production work from Bent, Can’t Let Go might sound different from previous SNS Records hits, but the results should be the same.

I was digging the vibe right off the top! I want more R&B like this. The vibe sort of reminds me of 2004 Brandy. LOSO came off nicely at the beginning. Shonie has a nice, assertive vocal presence of this. I can definitely dig it. Good, soulfully swaggerific production from Bent. Fab's second verse was hot as well. I can definitely give this rotation and maybe an extra star once it grows on me even more than it has now.
Oh, and sidebar: Zay550, you must be crazy yo. The Vibe Line chick looks way hotter than Shonie. Not hating on Shonie, but she isn't really a looker. Good voice though. |

Shonie has a wonderful voice, but I feel like she held back on this one.... anyone else feel that way, too?
As for the production and guest feature, both are solidly on point. This has radio potential... lets see how its worked. |

I like the feel of this r&b song. I think her voice is just average on dis but Fabolous killed this beat.

Not a fan of r&b music, but this is a pretty song! I don't think it will remain in the history of music but it's suitable to be played on the radio. She has a sweet voice but not so powerful, maybe she held back (I agree with you Z) on this song...Fabolous was great on his verse! In rotation

I gotta agree with Wow. She's forgettable. But its an ok-effort and an ok-track. Still better than lots of the bullshit out there. 2.5 stars

This is definitely a different look for S-N-S...the beat is smooth...fab kills it...and she has a great voice....it lacks power but hopefully she'll get better as time goes on

This actuall really good. She has some good lyrics, actually I love the lyrics and can truly relate to them. It doesn't have that "it" factor but it is good.

it's ok but she had a song out a while back as an unsigned artist ,it was on alot a sites and the song was always number one the name was ONE WOMANS MAN and another one was GET SLAP i think they would of done better ONE WOMAN'S MAN featuring fabolous, that would be a number one hit song. these songs was number one even on XM radio station.
