East Coast vet Sheek Louch may keep it street, but when it’s Time 2 Get Paid  you’d better believe he can craft a smash hit—from silky-smooth ladies’ jams to club bangers sure to have partiers dancing the whole night through, he can do it all!  Though the D-Block emcee’s opening verse on this new single finds him angling for TRL success (wait, wasn’t that taken off the air a while ago?), he’s quick to clarify that he won’t be straying from his roots: “I’m a thug, I ain’t really tryin’ to be R. Kell;” True his name, Cozmo delivers an infectiously spacey instrumental that, despite the sci-fi synths, still boasts an old-school edge, and leaves the spotlight on Louch’s seasoned flow.  This record might not get heavy rotation on MTV (last I checked, they hardly even air music videos anymore), but its lyrically-driven appeal should please the emcee’s devotees, and, of course, put some extra cash in his pocket.  Fans can find Time 2 Get Paid on the emcee’s latest LP, Life On D Block (set to drop next Tuesday, the 19th).  No Security, Sheek, Jadakiss, and Styles P.‘s first LP under the D-Block name, is currently set to drop June 2nd.

The production is original and fresh and the sample is a great idea. Sheek Louch has always been underrated in my mind. The lyrics are solid on this track.. I can spin this

Damn ya'll are right, people are sleepin on this track especially with an album well on the way. I've never been TOO big on Sheek but he showed me up with this one. As others have said, the flow was ON POINT here, matching the production perfectly.

Sheek Louch is a pretty underrated MC imo, he defiantly gets overshadowed by Jada & SP.

His flow suited the production really well on this track

If it wasnt for DJBooth, I wouldnt have even known he was dropping another album.

Just as i expected, Sheek's got another banger...its pretty safe that this is going to be the best song on the album (hopefully i'll stand corrected) but everytime Sheek drops a track for an upcoming album, that track is usually the dopest song and everything else is just ok...example..last years "good love" off silverback gorilla...was that not the hottest song off the album? eighter way, i cant wait for the album (Sheeks' and D-block)...less than 4-stars for this track is a sin!!

Sheek Louch is a very underated rapper. That being said, this isnt one of my favorite song from him. I'm not sure what it is, but it seems like something is missing, maybe its a guest verse b/c i think sheek sounds a lot better in a group than alone. Beat is cool, in rotation

This won't go to my mp3 player but I'd glady listen to it on the radio. It's a nice joint! His flow is good and so is the production. I especially love the beat!
