If there is one thing that Carlos Walker (better known as Shawty Lo) knows, it’s how to craft a hit. With Southern anthem Dey Know and the infectious Foolish, the emcee proved his knack for turning out chart-smashers, and his latest single may well become number three. The newly-selected cut finds Lo teaming up with self-proclaimed “Radio Killa” and hookman extraordinaire The-Dream to pay tribute to their shared hometown, Atlanta, GA. Not to be outdone, cameo king Ludacris jumps on board to defend ATL (and the South as a whole) in a characteristically hard-hitting guest verse, before giving way to Gucci Mane for cleanup duties. Produced by Ensayne Wayne, this hometown anthem is a tantalizing glimpse of the more personal direction Shawty Lo will take on his much-delayed forthcoming sophomore set, I Am Carlos

This song first appeared on the Rap Chart on August 31, 2009

I think its safe to assume the obvious: a Shawty Lo record can be very very good when it features a minimal contribution from Shawty Lo himself. In my personal (and sometimes respect) opinion, The-Dream steals the show here. Although when you grab Dream for a record, that has to be assumed.

This could work on a regional level, but I'd be surprised to see it hit in all the major markets.

I was gonna rate this a 2 just by seeing that Shawty Lo and Gucci were on this but I had to change it. The beat is bananas and The-Dream rightfully deserves all the spotlight the way he sings on the hook. Ludacris is a beast with his verse and SL and Gucci are good enough for me to give it some spins!

I prefer the orignal version of it when it's just Luda and some guy named Geno, who use auto-tune in the hook. Normally i'm with most u guys don't like the AT, but the guy doesn't sound bad at all. So back to the full version The-Dream i don't think he fits in this song, they should have sticked with the orignal singer Luda didn't expect anything less from him instead Gucci it should have been T.I. now that would be great track.

Better than anything on Lo's debut; mostly because Lo is kept to a minimum. Agreeing with Z, The-Dream steals the show here; the hook is flawless. Coming up close behind is Luda who brings by FAR the strongest verse. Meanwhile, having Gucci Mane on the track was a great choice by Lo; I mean, there's very few rappers who are so terrible they can actually make Lo look decent and Lo definitely found one here. Gucci's incomprehensible and cliched verse is pure, unadulterated trash. I'm at a loss how he actually gathered a fan base. I'd place even Soulja Boy above him; at least Soulja makes hits. Anyways, thanks to the beat, The-Dream and Luda, this is a banger. I only wish this was a Luda track with a Dream hook; than we'd have a classic.

Luda is most definately one of ma favorite rappers who barely ever does wrong. Here he was cool. he didnt take away from the track. I didnt dig The-Dream like everyone else. BUT, i feel like Gucci came the hardest LOL. i never thot i'd say that in my life. But his verse was my favorite to listen to, it felt the most natural on this beat. Shorty Lo was fine, i mean. Dey Know will probably be his only hit, but he did aight.

Co-sign Z on this, Shawty Lo got outshined by everyone on here. Great ATL feel here (oxymoron comment) but this is hot.

Agreeing with Z here. This will probably be a hit in the dirty south, though I cant this getting much spins anywhere else. Dream & Luda were good while Gucci & Lo were tolerable

Agree 100% with SoSo89 (even with all those annoying DJ shoutouts). Huge Dream fan but for some reason didnt feel the hook. Still a solid track.

Dream is on some other shit. After hearing Fancy, I know what he is capible of so this is just like yea, coo. Luda is a certified beast, way underrated in my opinion. LO can not rap. Gucci is working hard and I respect that, he is also improving. You can't help but admire his hustle.

Yeah I agree with everyone that the reason this song is good is because of Dream, Luda, Gucci and the production.. Shawty Lo is pretty terrible as far as rapping but this song mos def bangs.

This is a great song good to see ATL heavyweights on the same track..it does need T.I. on it tho..and The-Dream kinda disappointed me liked the other dude better...the dream still one of the best R&B singers out

Ludacris does not need to rap with these cats but I know how it is in the south hospitality. Spittin "They sayin' hip-hop dead, we kept it alive" has no effect when your verse is sandwiched between Shawty Lo and Gucci Mane ... BUT f*ck all that its LUDA!! and doesn't matter if he keeps repeating "gibberish" ad nauseam I would still rate it a banger!
The-Dream on hook is HIT and to my surprise Gucci was tolerable but Carlos was wack as usual ... Still in Rotation though, could've been a banger! with a T.I. appearance.

Shawty Lo sucks...sorry for those that like him but he's so garbage...Gucci came harder than him.
Beat is dope and I think the Dream flowed well on the hook. 2.5 but rounding down because of Shotty lo

I agree with Z, The-Dream stole the show here and a Shawty Lo record can be very enjoyable, if he's not in it that much. Luda was tight and Gucci was not bad (but not great either). 3.5

F*** it, whenever I see a song featuring LUDA I will automatically comment on how dope his verse was even BEFORE I hear it because I know he'll kill it. He's the reason I even chose to listen to this one. PURE CONSISTENT DOPENESS FROM ONE OF THE BEST!!!!!!!

Luda WOW! He and T.I. would do an awesome collaborative tradeoff verse if he weren't incarcerated.

Could've seen a better hook singer though.

Lo, as usual, sounds awful. Thank goodness he was barely in it.

OMG, Gucci actually had a respectable verse. But Luda sounds better, IMO. He and Luda gives this good enough to give a few spins. Dream's verse too.

The-Dream had a good verse too. Minus the end.
