When longtime reader fave Shawn Chrystopher speaks, DJBooth.net listens. Shockingly, though, there are some who simply refuse to heed his words – as the Inglewood native (and exclusive freestyle series alum) puts it on this new, unreleased track, “I try and told ‘em, They Ain’t Wanna Hear Me.” That, needless to say, is their loss; the rest of us will undoubtedly find Cameron Wallace‘s sparse, reverb-drenched boardwork too ear-catching to ignore. On the lyrical tip, Chrys comes with a blend of braggadocious wordplay and free-association that’s equally worthy of note: “This lil’ boy too nuts, balls, scrotum / See, I be sky-high wi-fi user modem.” Do you wanna hear more from this West Coast buzzmaker? Keep it locked – though this cut isn’t slated for inclusion on any forthcoming project, he is currently preparing to drop a new single, All the Other Kids. Wanna know whats crazy about this record? While waiting in the studio for his next single (mentioned above) to be mastered, Shawn recorded this track and unleashed it just because. On Twitter, artists are always mentioning that they need motivation to go into the studio and record. And Shawn? Yeah, how about the complete opposite.
Bad ass production from Cam Wallace and a catchy catchy chorus has this one in rotation.

Production is hot. Good lyrics on this I feel he did the best to kill it but falls a lil bit short on this one. Chorus is catchy easy rotation record.

While The Audition EP fell short of the truly classic material that was on A City With No Seasons, it's good to see Shawn doing something productive. Productive as in, this record was @*#$! sick.
Production was up to par with Shawn's slick wordplay and the hook was catchy as stated from previous comments. First verse was insane. Banger! |

If you're looking for a stripped down beat and a punchline heavy flow, you're looking for this Shawn cut. It's not highest quality track ever, but considering the circumstances of its creations it doesn't have to be.

@BeMore52, It's called rap music dumbass. It's not supposed to be all proper and grammatically correct and shit. U probably one of this guys' main haters too. I liked this track, definitely a 3.5~4. Nice flo, nice beat
