Untitled and Lose Your Mind, the first and second official leaks off Shawn Chrystopher‘s A City With No Seasons LP, both earned high praise in the Booth, but it seems the Inglewood emcee’s saved the best for last. Making its world premiere at this very site, Believer hit our inbox accompanied by a personal note in which the artist stated “this record means a hell of a lot to me.” Of course, even if he hadn’t told us, it would’ve been clear from the track itself—over Zaire Koalo lush mix of chilly synth ambiance, warm strings, and energetic midtempo percussion, the emcee gives a honest, sincere, and very real account of the inner conflicts that come with his artistic grind. Introspective cuts like this one tend to net rave reader reviews, and the eloquence with which Shawn Chrystopher bares his heart will doubtless make the track a DJBooth smash. The production is insane on here! Actually all of the elements of the track were crazy. His rapping was tight and it had a message (always a big plus). The hook was real nice too. Damn, 4.5 but I'm gonna round up. I just felt like I was in a zone listening to that song haha.

yo, im feelin this..... nice job on all elements of the song. i really love that ending too.
im not a bleiever yet though, prob cuz this is the first song ive listened to from this guy. but, now i will go back and listen to his previous features to find out if i am a believer or not. @Z: this better be worth it lol. |

This track has got that mass appeal IMO. Production is straight fire. The hook has a silky smooth finish.

Dope shit, I'm definitely a believer. Shawn Chrys's style and lyrics were on point. The essence of the songs provides something that hiphop has been missing for awhile.
