When we last heard from Shareefa, she had just released her debut album Point of No Return and the Darkchild-produced singles Need A Boss and Cry No More. Since then, fellow female Shawnna has left the DTP label, thus making Reefa the new undisputed first lady of DTP. Ready to take advantage of the newfound attention, the singer is already hard at work on her upcoming sophomore album, tentatively titled The Secret. On the first buzz single, On Fire, Shareefa once again shows off her vocal strength and range, tackling the sprung-over-her-man issue, while accompanied by block-ready steel drum production and an eight-bar intro courtesy of Jadakiss. A little more of On Fire and this secret will be sold.
It's awfully hard to stay 'on fire' when your label has soooo many damn artists. Shareefa has a great voice, as does Bobby, they just need some A&R help and a little promotion wouldn't hurt either. Jada forget about the other 8 bars.
I personally think Shareefa is a good artist with loads of potential (to be featured on other big tracks, at the very least). Pretty good track; definitely missing a little something. Maybe a few more verses from Jadakiss... And DJ Z is right, DTP definitely needs get their lesser artists some better exposure. I don't think they really did shawnna justice.
it's really good until she starts belting out "fiiiiiiiiireeeee" then it's almost like a teacher scrapin fingernails ona chalkboard... well not that bad
Def Jam has Jadakiss now, so I guess they are putting him to good use on this track. She is pretty average of a singer in my opinion. Jadakiss helps the track, but he can only do so much. In rotation I guess.
She sounds like someone I know..but I can't think of it right now. She has a crazy voice and parts of this song sound choppy. I don't think she lives up to what Shawnna was but her unique voice may get her far. Jadakiss feature was worthless in my opinion. In rotation.
Not too sure about this track....she has a good voice but......when she hits the FIRE high not it just doesnt sound right...and to co sign Jada supposed to came and kil led it
it will be a radio song weather its a hit or not yet i cant tell but i am just head nodding to it now.. jada did his thing on the track like always his energy helps
i luv shareefa n i agree dat she is an under rated artist, but i think dis isn't one of her greatest...especailly not to be used as a single for her second album...plus i heard dis like 2 wks ago on imeem(my second music choice)and it said sumthin bout dis was a remix...neways
