ShaqIsDope may call Toronto home, but Dirty California will always have a place in his heart. On his latest promo single and debut DJBooth feature, the emcee recounts how he fell in love with the Golden State, flowing over LSMI‘s sun-drenched sample work. What was it, exactly, that won him over? Unsurprisingly, the answer involves two of Kendrick Lamar‘s three ‘W’s: women and weed. (As a native of chilly Ontario, I’ve got to imagine he’s enjoying the Cali weather as well.) This record isn’t part of a larger project, but fans can stay tuned to The DJBooth for further news and song releases from this talented up-and-comer.
