Shaggy - Bad Men Don't Cry
Artist: Shaggy
Producer: Shaun “Sting International” Pizzonia
Album: Promo Single
Label: Ranch Entertainment
As has been demonstrated in many songs before, one of the risks of keeping a “jump-off” is that you may end up falling in love. Just ask reggae/dancehall heavyweight Shaggy, who’s been trying to keep up his playboy facade while suppressing his feelings for a special woman. Though he tells himself that a Bad Man Don’t Cry, he just can’t get that lady out of his head, and soon starts to see her in every woman he encounters. Adding to the lovelorn ambience, producer Shaun “Sting International” Pizzonia interpolates a sample from The Delfonics’ La La Means I Love You that should be enough to make any player shed a few tears. Bad Man Don’t Cry is the first promo single from Shaggy’s ninth studio album, which currently has neither a title nor a release date.

The fact that Shaggy is still making music is great. He doesn't need the money, but he clearly has a love for his craft. The sample is the most impressive part of this record, but Shaggy might have a few hits left in the tank!

The production is real mellow and the concept of this is cool. I like Shaggy, but I couldn't listen to this more than once. Just OK...

Shaggy's back, lookin' like a Jamaican Mike Epps! LOL. Anyhoo, the production is really good on this. The sample is hot, but besides that, I can't dig the song. I like reggae lovers music and dancehall music, but the mix between the two I think is what's throwin me. Its the style I'm not diggin.

LOVE the smooth soulful start. Shaggy has such a unique sound how can you critique it! I half expected the chorus to say "SHAFT!"

I heard Bad Men Don't Cry over the Thanksgiving holiday. I am not big fan of HipHop, however this is a great mix. I call this "Grown Folk" music. Shaggy, you hit it out of the Park! I have shared this with all my friends. They are digging this mix!
