Sha Stimuli - Make U Feel Good
Artist: Sha Stimuli
Featuring: Nephu
Producer: The Letter C
Album: The Break-Up Part 2: The Proposal
Label: Coast 2 Coast
The latest leak from Sha Stimuli is a breezy, feel good record that fits in the same vein as one of hip hop’s classic love ballads. More on that later… Anyways, on Make U Feel Good, The Letter C crafts an upbeat arrangement paced by sampled brass chops as Sha convinces his love interest to roll with him. The Brooklynite sweet talks his way through three smooth verses, between which the R&B quartet Nephu croons on a velvety chorus. Sha’s conversational flow is buttery smooth on this track, rhyming stop-start style with those short, witty phrases reminiscent of Common in his 2002 single Come Close: “But I will ride with you / And we can ride out / I’ll bring change four quarters, no timeout.” Overall, there’s nothing really epic here, just a pleasing combination of effortless charm and clever wordplay. No doubt it will stir up some hype for his forthcoming project, The Break-Up Pt. 2: The Proposal, dropping June 6 right here on DJBooth. I mean, what’s not to like? It’s just a fly love song.

the beat is solid, but gets repititive. The hook is smooth & pretty much flawless. Sha's voice just doesn't fit all that well. Ok verses.

A few members have chimed in regarding Sha's voice and how his vocals don't match the production. I have to respectfully disagree. You know what makes a great relationship song? An emcee who sounds like he actually gives a sh*t about the relationship while he is rhyming about it (not just going through the motions, so to speak). This is where Sha excels.

It's ok. The beat is good and bad at the same time, is that possible?
