Former DTP signee Serius Jones may still be a free agent, but he hasn’t let that hamper his grind one bit – in the absence of a label team to promote his forthcoming LP, he’s decided to head out on the campaign trail himself. On Oh Baby, the first in a series of online leaks leading up to Life Is Serius’ January 1, 2010, drop date, the Jersey emcee lets listeners know just how his-first-name he is about claiming his rightful place at the top of the music game. Over TheKidCaesar‘s street-anthemic blend of synths and low-frequency brass, Jones’ mixes motivational lyricism and wordplay-peppered trash talk – he even makes a few seriusly controversial comments about some of the game’s biggest names, “...with Jay it’s all touché, felt like swag wrestling/ Luda ain’t put no effort in but hey, that’s just him..” Serius is clearly…. well, let’s just say he means business, but will his grassroots promotion efforts pay off? Here’s hoping! In the meantime, keep it locked to the Booth and Serius’ blog; the emcee will be releasing one new record per week leading up to his LP’s release at the top of next year.

I like the radio "sound" here compared to most other serius songs where he focuses 100% on lyrics. Unfortunately the hook was very weak to me, both audio quality and lyrically and the verses sounded bad quality and nothing that held my interest much.

Ok, if you're calling out Jay and Luda you better come with some extra ish, not this mediocrity. It'd be an average track, but with the over-the-top boasting I'm docking an extra star. Truth is, Luda and Hova would destroy him. Mess with the bull, get the horns.

Hmmmm ... taking shots at Ludacris, that doesn't sit nicely with DJBooth fans. Nothing more than two stars from me. It's an okay song if you get past the annoying screams in the background, but he's put out better music so I'll check out those weekly tracks.

I want to know how is he throwing shots at Ludacris if he said Luda never put no effort in???? I think when some of yall rate you get bias because of other artist you have grown to love instead of rating the actual music at hand. I think this is great work from Serius Jones and much better than alot of stuff I have heard from regualarly rotated artist such as Wiz Khalifa. Anyway the beat is hot and I like the sample of Oh Baby with loud screaming makes it energetic and his lyrics are on point. You tryna get a buzz but stay out my beez wax and Stronga than Canada weed and you weaker than Drakes Knees. I get it a 5 for the streetz

I think the production is solid and his flow is hot for real, but I can't help that shout in the hook. For that I can't rate this song 4 stars!
