Already possessing a #1 hit in the controversial Beautiful Girls, the lead single off his self-titled debut offering, Jamaican crooner Sean Kingston is currently gearing up for the release of his sophomore opus.  Though I’m at War failed to live up to expectations despite the presence of rap megastar Lil Wayne, the LP’s official lead single, Fire Burning, was an unreserved smash.  In hopes of repeating that success, the baby-faced vocalist has released a bevy of potential singles, including Island Queen, a Smeezingtons-produced song heavily influenced by Kingston’s Caribbean roots. This single is available (along with a few others) through iTunes as part of Countdown to Tomorrow, an online series leading up to the album’s arrival this fall.

This song first appeared on the R&B / Pop Chart on August 31, 2009

When Sean first broke onto the scene (pre-Beautiful Girls), he had a street edge. His people decided that wasn't his angle. They were right... and thank goodness. Kingston is good at what he does and his fans like it, so no need to change up his sound or style.

Not as catchy as his actual single selections, but another solid album cut.

It's funny. Him and Pitbull have the same approach. Drop hits... This ones not as catchy, but still kinda catchy and a solid album cut at the very least.

I'm not mad at this record, it's a good switch from his pop radio hits you hear over and over 5x a day. I can vibe with this one, not his best though but I;m glad he dropped it to show another side.

Call me a hater, but I can't stand this dude's style. I actually like when he raps better than when sings. It annoys the hell out of me. This song is not so bad, honestly, a stereotypical island track. Ay MON.

I'm always up for such kind of songs - smooth, catchy, sing-along .... all goood vibrations ... but Imma come straight out on it very generic and stereotypical reggae production.

@that1kid13- hey, almost every artist from every genre of music dont get more than one #1 hit. 98% (rough estimate) of all musicians have never had a #1 hit. its not easy to do.

as for the song, i agree its a quality album track. its better than most dance hall/reggae tracks that i hear too.
