Sean Kingston - I'm At War ft. Lil Wayne
Artist: Sean Kingston
Featuring: Lil Wayne
Producer: Jonathan "J.R." Rotem
Album: Tomorrow
Label: E1/Beluga Heights/Epic
To date, Sean Kingston has built his career on radio-ready love songs, and, despite the machine-gun sound effects scattered throughout the record, I’m At War is no exception to this rule. Over a tuneful beat by Beautiful Girls producer J.R. Rotem, the Jamaica-bred singer lets his lady know that, though their disagreements make him feel like a soldier on the front lines, he would still take a bullet for her. True to form, Weezy stretches the song’s central metaphor to its absolute breaking point on his Auto-Tuned verse, spitting lines like, “Salute to all the veterans/ Girl, your love is like a nuclear weapon,” while Kingston’s performance is as melodically lovelorn as we’ve come to expect. With Rotem and Wayne on his side, the singer has more than enough firepower to make I’m At War another chart-conquering hit. Kingston’s sophomore LP, Tomorrow, is set to explode onto store shelves in spring of this year.

This one isn't bad. I'm still not a big fan of this type of Sean Kingston music, I prefer his feel good summer jams over this. I can probably assume that this will be the 1st single from him and I think it will do average. Wayne was pretty good on here, there's really not too much to say about him anymore. Overall in rotation type of track.

I have two questions...
1) Is Sean a better hook singer than a featured artist? 2) Does Wayne give discounts for auto-tuned work? ... Rotation... barely. |

At what point does Wayne put down his auto-tune? I had enough of it right after lollipop came out, and everyone will get sick of it soon... that being said, his part of the song was the best for me... the rest was a bit too repetitive and simple... Just Ok

Sounds like every typical Sean Kingston song and combinen it with Weezy and you get a solid song. Solid production, solid hook by Kingston and Weezy did alright and the autotune fit good for this song. This is pretty dope!

Shawty I take a bullet for you girl cause you mean the world to me?
I feel like I'm in the army? Feel like you puttin me through WW2? Got my soldier suit and timberland boots? N*gga shut da HELL UP! It's not called a soldier suit it's called CAMOFLAUGE "BDU's" (Battle Dress Uniform). Timberland Boots dude I ain't gonna even finish clownin you tonite. Weezy I'm leaning toward Fiddy when he called you a track "Whore" doing features to the highest bidder. Man the only thing you and Sean K. have in common is yall skin tone... WTF (Soldier Suit)? GARBAGE... |

Pretty hot track right here. The chorus straight, the beat good, and the lyrics are decent. Lil Wayne needs to stop using the auto-tune cuz its running out of popularity lately, but other then that its a good song. Ill put it in rotation.

The Kingston & Kardinal joint was such a hot track, but this sucks in comparison. Even though im not a big fan of Wayne rapping, i wish he'd go back to doing it because his auto-tune work sucks.

This beat is better than average. Sean Kingston sounds good with the auto-tune overall. The song is a bit dragging to me in a certain aspect. I think Lil Wayne RIPPED this right here. Its a really short verse, but its pretty worth it. It can go into rotation for sure...

Beast23...
It ain't that homie, I don't even know fat boy. What I do know is that I did a tour in Iraq fightin for my country so that his illiterate (nusery rhyme singing) azz could make millions of dollars. I understand if yall don't appreciate my service and my homies services who didn't make it back. Dude when I was out there pulling guard duty in the desert with my "Soldier Suit" in freezing temperatures, sand in my mouth, nostrils and ears. Sean K. was buying a effin neckalace with the 64 colors of crayola for $75,000. I can fight for our freedom, but I can't have freedom of speech to ETHER this fool when he speaks ignorantly and doesn't come correct on a track. No Prob... One Love Z Fa Sho... Signing Off |

Ok I want to address Fa Sho and want to first off by saying I appreciate you fighting for the U.S.A. and I give you serious props. I myself have thought about joining the military but have not had the courage. However, I like this song he might not have the facts all straight but I like the concept of the song. I feel you can look at it has a person loving his girl or the big picture is an actual soldier out their fighting for his country.

Personally, I loved Kingston's debut album. It was in heavy rotaion for quite a while. I wasn't crazy about his last track with Kardinall, and same thing here... So-so, but in rotation. Lil Wayne sounded good on this beat. People like Fa Sho make the booth such a great place.Wow man, I got respect for you and your homies
