Since his first single as a lead artist, Grippin’ On My Bed, was released in February, many listeners have waited patiently for longtime songwriter/producer Sean Garrett to release his debut album, Turbo 919. Though it’s been eight months the wait unfortunately continues for anyone not a citizen of Japan (the only country where the project was dropped). Knowing what it will take to get the 919 speeding towards the States, Garrett has picked up arguably the biggest production team in R&B for the his new single, Lay Up Under Me. As Sean utilizes his soft vocals, Stargate provides accompaniment similar to several of their past hits (If I Was Your Man and Spotlight come to mind). With some quality radio promotion, this potential single could find a comfortable spot in rotation. So, will Lay Up Under Me provide the spark needed to start the engine?

This is nice. I dig this laid back feel. Sean does sound like Lloyd here. Thats not a bad thing. Ne-yo at it again! Production is very good. I gotta call this a banger.
I'm feeling the production and the song is very sweet. He can sing well! I have to listen to it again, it will grow on me for sure. For now I can't see anything that really stands out, although he has talent and the song is pretty...pretty but not much original! In rotation
This is my favorite release from Sean yet. I really hope that the DJS back this single and he can get some air play poppin'. The album really has a lot to offer.
awwwww damn, thiz woulda been hella sex-c if tha beat were a lil slower. DAMMIT!!!!! i wanted to lyk thiz song but it wuz jus aight for me. ugh darn i guess it getz a 3 but i'll probably only lis-n to thiz 2 or 3 more timez. i real-e lyk hiz voice though- itza shame....darn it:( but i still LUV YA:) HA!
